I made a purchase and a shipment was made with a tracking number, which I was able to track using 17track.net. However, when the tracking ended with the item being delivered, I never got the item, and the status on eBay never reflected it. I attempted to contact the seller, but faced with "please wait". When I attempt to contact eBay, I keep getting circular issue where there's no way to get to the item, because the status on eBay indicates that the item has not been received, therefore, I cannot proceed submitting an issue. At this point, there's no way for me to get in touch with anyone about what I'm seeing. This is the first time I'm trying to contact eBay. Can someone kindly point out the proper way to get in touch with eBay on an issue involving fraud?
Thank you.

OP4 months agoThe delivery time expired and eBay automatically refunded my money, without any additional involvement from me. That seller is getting a 0 star from me, if he's even around. Case closed.

OP4 months agoThat's the confusing part for me in this whole mess. Unless the item is marked as delivered, there was NOTHING I could do to move it along. The software simply did not allow me to select it as an item to be raised as an issue. But once it was moved to the "Delivered" state, then I could actually select it and raise the issue.
The latest update is that I was able to get a phone call from an agent who looked into the issue and told me that because I had contacted the seller previously 2 times, that seller will have one more week to resolve the issue before eBay will step in and refund my money.

·4 months agoWhat return request did you file? Hopefully, you didn't file "item not received"

·4 months ago" . . . However when the tracking ended with the item being delivered . . ."
Are you saying that the online viewable tracking shows that the item was delivered, but eBay doesn't show that?
tauth-4
OP4 months agoThat is correct. The tracking shows that the item was delivered, but eBay does NOT, therefore, I cannot select that item to claim that the item was not delivered. That's the current difficulty for me at this point.
jonathanbrightlight
·4 months agoThat shouldn't prevent you from selecting the option on eBay that it wasn't delivered, but if you're not past the last estimated date of delivery yet, that would prevent that.
However, even if eBay is not currently showing that delivered status, opening a claim for Item Not Delivered is not necessarily going to work out in your favor, since that tracking status could still update.
What shipping carrier was used? I see you said what site you used to track it, but to my knowledge that is a site that tracks multiple carriers.
tauth-4
OP4 months agoThe carrier is China Post. I checked today and the status of the item finally turned to "Delivered" and I was able to filed a return request. We'll see how that goes. Thanks for your response.

·4 months agoSo now it says delivered, but unless you actually DID receive it, why would you open an item not as described request?
christworks
·4 months ago@tauth-4 Look at the order and find the last estimate delivery date. The day after that date you can open an Item Not Received case. The seller will have 3 business days to respond by uploading the tracking number and showing that it was delivered or fully refunding you. If the seller does not refund you or fails to upload the tracking number that shows it was delivered, you can ask eBay to step in to resolve the claim on the 4th business day after you opened the case.
There is no need to speak with anybody at eBay nor is there a need to speak with the seller. For better or worse, everything is automated. eBay does not need you to report fraud. You would report mail fraud to the carrier's investigators, but only if you are not made whole. Once you open the INR case, you will either be made whole by the seller or eBay.

If Ebay doesn't show delivered, open an Item Not Received case.
Go to your purchase history and click I didn't get it in the menu next to the item.
The seller will have 3 days to provide a tracking number showing it was delivered or refund.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.
