Need advice: damaged item + return label not working in my country!
Hello everyone,
I’m hoping someone here might have advice or has experienced something similar.
I started a refund process for an item I purchased, but the return shipping label provided by the seller is not accepted in my country. Because of that, I currently cannot send the item back, and I also couldn’t find a clear way to contact eBay directly from the return page.
The bigger issue is that the items themselves arrived damaged. I ordered two BC-250 boards and unfortunately both were in bad condition when they arrived.
One of the boards is bent, does not power on, and several pins are visibly bent. The second board has scratches and a broken NVMe slot. On top of that, the packaging was extremely poor, the boards were wrapped only in very thin, partially torn bubble wrap with almost no protection, which likely caused the damage during shipping.
To make things worse, I already paid about €58 in customs fees, so in total I’ve spent quite a lot of money on items that arrived damaged and unusable.
I do have clear photos showing the damage and the packaging, but right now I feel a bit stuck because the return label doesn’t work here and I’m not sure how to proceed.
Has anyone else dealt with a situation like this? Any advice on how to handle it or how to get eBay to step in would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.🙏

·6 months agoTo return something on your own will cost a lot...with the tariffs of Bulgaria to another country.
I don't think the seller will pay the postage...so your're kinda on your own.
And there's the time frame of only 30 days upon receiving it for a refund.
I would only do this in the time frame allowed by the way.

·6 months agoSince the items arrived damaged and the return label isn’t valid in your country, contact eBay Customer Support directly with your photos and details. They can open a case, override the return label, and help get a full refund including shipping/customs if the seller is at fault

The seller is only responsible for return shipping from the location they shipped to.

If you used a freight forwarder, you have to ship it back to them, then they can use the label to ship to the seller.

Was the shipping address you provided at checkout your address in Bulgaria (assuming you aren’t in a different country than where your account was registered), or did you provide a shipping address within the seller’s country, such as a freight forwarding service?
The seller is responsible for providing a return label from wherever they shipped the item to. If they did, but for some reason that label isn’t valid, then you would need to contact eBay. But if you had it reshipped from the address provided to the seller, it would be your responsibility to get it back to that location so that the return label provided by the seller can be used.

·6 months agoWondering why that matters, as OP got a "return shipping label provided by the seller" (which they cannot use).
