Item Return date is before delivery date
I request to cancel an item 20DEC so I received message to return item before 7Jan26 to receive refund but the expected delivery date is 8Jan26 and I can't find a link to EBay to contact me about this.
No responce from seller.

1. If tracking shows that the item is already on its way, and will soon be delivered
2. and you received a prepaid USPS return label with a barcode
I received message to return item before 7Jan26
You could scan the barcode now at a self service kiosk in a post office lobby, then affix the label when you receive the item to send it back: You have a few days after the Jan 7 deadline to get the return actually mailed.
15 business days after December 20, 2025, is Friday, January 16, 2026, skipping U.S. federal holidays.

·9 months agothe problem is , ebay failed to balance the itnernational vs domestic selling policies. why buyer is allowed to open return when item is not delieverd yet for domestic orders. lets say sometimes carrier mess up item after shipping and item has no movement for more then two weeks. at that point system should allow to open return for buyers but ebay seems allow buyers to screw sellers by placing an order and then right away open return. it does not make any sense at all. what a failure and its clearly a loop hole to allow bad buyers to abuse sellers. u buy it and its shipped and right away open return when item is not delievered.
i hope some soldier of ebay comes here and defend and explain this logically.

OP9 months agoItem was pictured as a thick paper service manual,2 days later I read it was not a paper manual but a USB so I requested to cancel order but couldn’t because shipping process was underway so was given a return
Deadline date for refund which is before my delivery date!

·9 months agoThat means you filed a return request, not a cancellation request. A cancellation request cannot be sent after the item has been marked as shipped. The seller would have needed to approve the cancellation anyway.
eBay does not extend return shipping timeframes. If the item was correctly described in the listing and you simply misunderstood, I don’t think there’s any proper way to get out of this.

You do not have the item physically yet in your hands.

·9 months agoOf course they do, the eBay Money Back Guarantee is very effective, if you don’t do the wrong steps in the wrong order. Opening a return request when you have nothing to return does not work out well with any retailer or marketplace, though.

OP9 months agoAre you not reading my replies.......My dateline to return ends BEFORE my expected date to receive item!!!!!! And The item pictured on EBAY is NOT what I receive according to the verbal description of how well the tem is,the letters USB was placed so EBAY should disallow sellers using this trickery...the PICTURED item is what the byer should be getting.... RIGHT?

·9 months agoI read your replies, which is why I said you should not have opened a return request when you had not received the order yet. We cannot fix that mistake for you, nor am I aware of any way for you to fix it at this point or if it is even appropriate to do so.
You haven't provided a link to the listing, but I believe I know which one it was, based on the feedback left for you by sellers. If I'm correct, it does not seem deceptive, it is quite clearly marked as a USB delivery, and there is nothing in the listing indicating it would be a printed copy.
