Item not being delivered.
Most orders that I have processed for shipping never arrived. I know that many orders wouldn't be delivered. My question is could the supplier be ordered to change the estimated delivery time ? I think ebay is messing up new sellers and then holding the sellers responsible when drop shippers don't ship the product. I think ebay is guilty of having the suppliers to ship packages out later than the estimated date than what the seller sees when processing the order.

·2 years agoSellers who wish to use another company to drop ship for them usually make a major mistake.
They select a company who seeks sellers on marketplace sites as their customers.
They are often smaller than major distributors, not manufacturer authorized wholesale distributors and not offering the best wholesale prices. They often do not make the sellers aware of out of stock conditions. They do not guarantee a shipping time. Their invoices may not serve as proof of authenticity if your product is challenged as counterfeit. They are geared to making as much money as they can before the sellers are banned from selling on marketplace sites.
This does not mean that major distributors are a sure fire way to succeed if you rely on them to drop ship. When merchandise is in short supply, they tend to prioritize inventory to their stocking customers who move higher volume. They may require references and a credit check to open an account. They may offer better prices to their volume customers. You need to be selective about the products you choose from their inventory to avoid failing to meet the fulfillment requirements of the marketplace sites.

·2 years agoWhy do you say, I know that many orders wouldn't be delivered?
As far as Ebay is concerned, you are the supplier.
How would Ebay know who your supplier is?

Dropshipping is allowed.
However, you put your fate in the drop shipping companies hands.

·2 years agoI didn't check their listings.
However, people need to stop using the term "dropshipping" incorrectly.
I have a few items I drop ship. Agreement made from manufacturer to ship direct to buyer on my behalf. (Actual dropshipping).
Fake "dropshipping" I'd say is a contactless form of retail arbitrage.
Sorry I was going just by the information here.

OP2 years agoI dont have my own fulfillment company. I don't even know who the processed label goes to. I just process the labels before the ship by date.

·2 years agoYou probably want to find a different drop ship company.
Ebay will hold YOU accountable as you are the one who is selling on eBay.
If your drop shipping company doesn't do its job, you will take the blame for it.
Drop shipping is very risky as you have no control over fulfillment.
If you show a pattern of fulfillment issues, eBay will eventually shut you down permanently.

·2 years agoEbay has nothing to do with your supplier. Ebay can't make your supplier do anything. Whatever your supplier is doing isn't eBay's fault. You are responsible for your sales. You are the one who sets the estimated dates based on your handling time. Ebay holds the sellers responsible for their sales.

·2 years agoYou are the seller, and yes you are responsible to ensure your buyers receive the items they purchased until delivery.
You say you know your buyers won't be receiving their items, you may as well refund them all by cancelling every transaction as out of stock.
Drop shipping is a poor business decision as you are finding out.

Ebay has nothing to do with suppliers. If you don't have the inventory on hand, YOU are the guilty party. You aren't fulfilling your buyers' orders.
