Item Matches Listing, But Buyer Wants Return
Hi everyone,
I could use some advice. I sold an item that matches exactly what I showed in the listing photos. After receiving the order, the buyer wants to return it, saying they didn’t check the pictures properly before purchasing.
The item is as described, and I included clear photos to show exactly what the buyer would receive. They want to return it simply because they didn't review the listing carefully.
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? Am I required to accept the return in this case, even though there's nothing wrong with the item?

Do you check that automatically? I never think to look, that's a failure on my part.

·1 year agoI saw a single sold item that showed ‘no returns’. All the others I checked had 14-day returns.

Did the buyer open a ‘return request’?
What reason did they choose for wanting to return it?
Which item was it?
We need to know the answers to the above in order to answer YOUR question.

·1 year agoYa, I usually check it first to see what their return policy is.
The couple listings I check both accepted returns but not knowing what the item was, don't know if that listing accepted returns or not?

Your best bet is to accept the return and have the buyer pay for return shipping.
Right now they are being honest and as a remorse return, it's fair for them to pay the shipping.
I believe you can issue a label and deduct the cost from the refund.
That said; the buyer can decide to file a not as described and even though you say it was as listed, it will force a return, paid for by you. If you deny a return like this, not as described, eBay will allow them to keep the item and refund them.
So I would tell them to open a return request, changed mind, if they haven't already.

I suppose OP can deny a remorse return if they have no returns on their listing..
