I'm trying to contact eBay to "finish" my request for a return to collect my refund
. . I have to contact eBay to help finish my request to return an item because I can NOT download photos to finish my request! . . . they have done this for me in the past few years! . . . but I can NOT get past the automated operator because she is Stuck On Stupid! . . . the email she sends me goes NO where! . . . and she tells me she can NOT connect me to an agent . . . and to call back earlier! . . . it's 2:30 PM EST??? . . . . ·4 months agoI will never forget when someone showed me how to copy/paste. I don't remember the year but I was definitely a late bloomer for my cohort (as in, my college classmate seemed shocked that I didn't know already). @theohlyone Once you have done it a couple times and see how easy it really is, you'll be using it left and right!
It wasn't till several years after THAT that I learned how to do screenshots. Now I probably over-use them, ha. Making up for lost time!!!

You can do this yourself with the automated return system.

So you are still at the point where you need to ‘Copy’ a photo … any photo … off your computer, and then ‘Paste’ it into your return request? I recommended you use one of the listing photos … but you can use any photo at all to satisfy the requirements of the return request.
Maybe you can Google, ”How to
Copy & Paste a photo using a laptop” , and go from there. It doesn’t sound like you actually tried to do the Copy & Paste procedure yet. Can you give it a try?

·4 months agoOkay Rick @theohlyone . I'm the same way ... and have both cervical AND lumbar back issues 😉 . [Trust me ... dissolving this problem will reduce (at least) your back pain. 😊]
You said you were stuck at the Paste part of C&P duo. Once you have copied a photo ... you just change tabs to go back to your open 'return request'. There should be a link ( print) to 'Attach photos' ... which is what you click on to Paste the photo. If you're using a pc or laptop ... you should be able to change screens without losing the copied photo.
[BTW, if there happens to be a 'photo' somewhere on your opened 'return request' screen ... then use THAT photo to complete the return. The bot doesn't care what photo you send.]
I'm telling you above from memory, as I don't have a recent-enough purchase to run through a return request myself ... so don't expect it to be exactly as I described.
P.S. If any of the above is on your 'Don't know' list ... let us know.

OP4 months ago. . I thought I had tried everything on the "Return Request" page! . . . matter of fact I was able to stick a photo of the item on that page! . . . I finally got a call from eBay that cleared up the issue I was having but I still want to learn how to "cut & paste!" . . . I had so many pages up trying to send that photo to the Seller . . . (or if it just goes to eBay???) . . . I thought I was going to go Bonkers!
. . having a procedure done on my low back on the 29th . . . shots to my low back . . . and the Doc is going to "trim my nerve endings!"??? . . . he said it should take care of the pain for 2-3 years! . . .

I once had someone include a pic of Wil Wheaton when returning a hard drive. That was sufficient.

·4 months ago@kibble-net Exactly, you can use a photo of *anything and the return will process. But you had to know how to transfer that of photo file of Wil Wheaton to the return application, and the OP says they don't know how to do that.

My mother is 86 years old with dementia and she can use a computer and a smart phone. She does not understand everything for sure, but she tries and she does not expect the world to cater to her.

·4 months ago@theohlyone You have been given instructions on how to do copy/paste to get a photo in your return case. And you were told (correctly) that you could just use a photo from the listing, so it doesn't matter if you don't have a camera. With copy/paste, you could complete the return request in a few seconds.
Have you tried it, or is staying angry more important to you?

Here's what you're missing:
On Windows: Right-Click the Image and select Copy . . . to Copy an Image. Left-click where you want the photo to go... then Right-Click to Paste the Image . . . and select Paste. You can do this!

A work-around (for not being able to add photos of the item to a return request) has been to copy & paste one of the listing photos to your return request. See if that works for you.

Edit: Here's a way to save a copy for your own as reference. Right click and choose "save image as" then put it into a folder of your choice on your PC. Now you have a copy and can put that into the return and have a copy of your own to boot.

The last time I tried it …..
On a computer:
Right-click on a listing photo of the item … and choose ‘Copy’.
Then right-click on where you’re supposed to attach the photos to the return request … and choose ‘Paste’.

·4 months agoNot sure I understand: So you've received an item that you purchased on eBay and it's not as described?
When that happens, you should be able to open an item not as described case per the Money Back Guarantee. After the case is opened, you wait 3 days for the seller to either send you a prepaid return label, or to just refund you without a need to return. To open an NAD case, you have no need to speak with anyone.
Why are you doing it differently?
