If I request a refund on a package and the person decides to ship the item what happens?

I purchased an item and the person has not even shipped it yet. I requested a refund and eBay is processing it right now. If the person decides to ship it and give me an update are they allowed to do that? I requested to cancel the item and for them to not ship it. I'm new to the process of refunds and it says money back guaranteed does that mean I receive the item OR the refund?

Is the 6th the estimated date of delivery on the item sold on eBay?

Item not received per eBay date you can request a refund. INR is what you would use...not cancel.

And you would open a claim as INR. Was it an item without tracking?

It was estimated by eBay for the 6th. I opened an INR and requested a refund. eBay says they will intervene by the 14th if the seller does not respond. The item has not been shipped but a label was printed automatically. I believe the item is still with the seller so they could still ship it if they wanted. I guess what I'm asking is are they able to refuse a refund and simply ship it? Or are they required to give a full refund per request no matter what?

I think that eBay is giving the seller some time to show that the item is moving. (You say there was a label printed automatically, so I assume you're checking tracking.) If eBay doesn't see any movement, they'll likely close the case in your favor on the 14th.

So, in answer to your question, yes... the seller could still ship it. The seller is not required to issue a refund just because you requested that. Keep an eye on the case timeline and hit eBay up on the 14th, if you still have nothing.
