I Received Carelessly Packed Electronics That Were Damaged
I've never run into a situation quite like this. I received a lot of electronic parts that were tossed into a small container without any packaging around them and shipped in a plastic bag-mailer. Not all the parts listed were received. Several were not the parts that were listed. And several of the parts arrived damaged, we think from the lack of proper packing. The seller claims they do not normally sell electronics and the damage and discrepancies were all unintentional and caused by their lack of knowledge. They were combative but they say they will accept a return, but I'm wondering - if I return these things in the same packaging they were received in - will they get there safely? Or will I be blamed if there is more damage caused? Because my friend thinks the only way to return these items safely is to get bubble wrap, properly wrap each piece as well as the small container they were sent in, and then return everything in a properly (safe) sized sturdy cardboard box. He thinks that if I return them the way I received them, this seller could possibly claim they were damaged during the return, based on the way this person has responded to this matter.
My questions - should I just return them in the same way the seller sent them? If not, and I use a proper (larger ) box, will the return label from Ebay cover that? Or will I have to eat that cost, as well as the cost of proper packaging that I know I will have to cover? I've never run into anything like this, and the seller's attitude has left me very wary.

·2 years agoThe eBay return label will cover any package you place it on. You can return it in the same packaging it arrived in. If you have some box on hand you can use that. You don't have to purchase bubble wrap and new boxes. Just look around the house anything will do.
