I received a dysfunctional product today from an Ebay seller
I just received my new keyboard and plugged it in but it somewhat dysfunctional as at least one key on the board did not work. It a brand new item yet it doesn't work properly. What are my options? Can it be repaired without my paying for it or must I return it for a refund? This is very upsetting as I thought I bought a new, functional item. Apparently I was wrong.

Go to your purchase history and click return item and select, the item doesn't match the description as the reason.
The seller will have 3 days to accept the return and pay return shipping or refund without returning.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

·2 years agoYou could open up a return for the product and the seller would be responsible for the shipping back and would need to fully refund you the original price/shipping. Choose item not as described within the return and the seller will have a few days (I think 3 days) to respond to you. They can either refund you completely and let you keep the item, or they can send a return shipping label they pay for so you can return it. Once they receive the item, they will refund your purchase amount. Regardless if the seller has a no return policy or not. You are covered under the Ebay MBG and suggest you review it as well.
Many items are listed as Brand New (that should not be) and technically it is not against the rules/law on Ebay. It can be misleading and a waste of time but buyers do have protection when it arrives not as described. The reason so many sellers choose to use the Brand New condition is that it will typically give them advantages (pricing) over authorized dealers. It really gets shady when the Brand New items fall in certain categories. (electronics, certain tools, home appliances ect.) Ebay allows it so just know what protections buyers have and what limitations your product may have after the sale.
No one cares about sellers that sell a pack of 30 year old trading cards that are sealed and listed as brand new. (as an example) Its the items that should work for a period of time after the 30 day Ebay MBG expires or if the product normally has a warranty/support.
