    I only received a partial refund.

    I ordered an item from a seller that offers free returns.  I just didn't like the colors, so I returned it using the pre-paid label from the seller.  I received a refund only on the price of the item, not for the original shipping cost.  How can I tell if I should have received a full refund, including the original shipping cost?

    Like I said in your other post, the seller can deduct the original shipping you paid for a remorse return.

    @soh.maryl  is correct. Free returns simply means that the seller pays for return shipping. Free return shipping  does not mean that the seller is required to refund the original shipping cost.

    Whenever a buyer files a remorse return for an item AND they paid for the item to be shipped to them, the seller is within their right to withhold the original shipping paid by the buyer.   If the item was shipped to the buyer for 'free' then the seller cannot hold back original shipping.

    Somehow I've always thought that, when a buyer asks to return an item, and his reason for the return is "just didn't like the colors" or something similar, that would be a "remorse return" and the seller didn't have to refund the shipping.  Have not sold for many years, so maybe I am misinformed?

    @soh.maryl

    I use 30-Day (Buyer pays) Returns. Yes, I accept remorse Returns... and when I get one, the buyer pays the return shipping charge and I can deduct the listing's original s&h charge from the refund upon the item's return.

    I think (?) in the case of 'Free Returns', the seller refunds the buyer in full for both the item and the s&h charged.

    I'm open to hear how it works from a 'Free Returns' seller. Maybe one will happen by...

    Thank you for the information, but I don't see anywhere on the purchase details where I can open a case.  How do you open a case for an item that was purchased?

    @cocoshell24

    You've already opened a case... the Return. Now, you need to appeal the decision/outcome of your case. Tick on the link that @krazzykats provided, read through it and scroll down to "How to appeal a decision". Tick the hot 'Purchases' button and follow the directions.

    Respectfully, if this was a remorse return and the seller didn't refund the shipping, presumably because this was a remorse return, then what would be the basis of the buyer's appeal?

    I absolutely agree with you after reading @pjcdn2005's reply. Forget the appeal instructions, @cocoshell24... yours was a remorse Return. If the seller protection is that he/she can retain original s&h, then that's what the seller did. It's all good.

    I learned something new today... again, while sitting right here. Thanks, y'all! ðŸ˜Š

    I don't use Free Returns, but I would think that your seller owes you a refund of everything you paid, too. ðŸ¤”
