How do I get back a Dyson Airwrap bought for $362.83 promised to arrive by July 3, didn't?
Pls help me get back the $362.83 I purchased for a Dyson Airwrap on June 29/25 that the seller promised I would receive by July 3/25. It didn't arrive on the date promised. I needed it for a conference in Canada. As well, my husband of 40 years died very recently and I need that money to deal with details of his passing.
I sent the seller a message indicating that he didn't send it in time, as promised, to arrive on July 3. Another seller I inquired with indicated she would expedite shipment to me on Monday, June 30 for arrival by July 3; however, I had purchased the other seller's Dyson Airwrap by the time I read her thoughtful message. Besides my husband's passing, my nephew in Canada was in the hospital and I had to fly to see him.
The seller indicated that Ebay had a guaranteed refund policy and did not refund the money.
Unfortunately, because I was in a hurry to prepare for my trip, I signed on as a guest instead of through my account. I do have the purchase showing on my credit card statement. So it appears I must take another course of action.
Please help me with this request for this expensive item. I have documentation of the purchase in my credit card statement. As a buyer, even if I purchase the item without an ebay account, I should be able to recover the $362.83 (very expensive) I am a grieving widow, a teacher, and really do need some help.
Do let me know what I must do to recover the monies. I appreciate any help you can give me.
You can find my account under Wend-Zend.

·11 months agoI am sorry for the loss of your husband and the ill family member. It seems we are always going into a storm, in the middle of one, or coming out of one. I pray for healing for you and your family.
On the issue you posted about, I'm unclear whether the item never arrived or it arrived but after the estimated delivery date.
Any delivery date you saw at the time of your purchase is an estimate, not a guarantee. Sellers have no control over how long it takes for an item to get to a buyer. We are responsible for meeting our handling time, which is accounted for in the estimated date you see. We are also responsible for ensuring it is actually delivered to you. When you place an order, you normally see a delivery date range, then once we hand the package over to the carrier, you will see a specific date. That date can change, however, if the package is delayed by the carrier.
While buyers can file Item Not Received case if an item does not arrive by the estimated date, it is not difficult for sellers to get the timeframe extended as long as there are recent tracking scans and we met our handling time. USPS gets a lot of attention for delays, but FedEx and UPS have them, too. Trucks break down, sorting machines break down, there is bad weather, people don't come to work, etc. I never recommend anybody buy something online if they have a tight deadline to meet. If buyers reach out to me about needing something by a certain date, I normally block them because I know I cannot guarantee anything and I don't want to risk a return down-the-line or receive negative feedback for something beyond my control.
If the item arrived, what date did it arrive on? If the buyer accepts 30-day or 60-day returns, this could be an option as you have 30-day or 60-days from the actual date of delivery (not the estimated date) to open a return. If they do not accept returns and you got the item that was described to you in the listing, then you won't be able to get any help through eBay. Ultimately, you got the item and never filed an Item Not Received case within the allowable timeframe. The seller met their obligation, even if the package arrived outside the delivery window.
If you got the item, your bank or credit card company probably won't be able to help you either because there is no fraud involved. You can try to dispute the charge, but if you got the item and it arrived in the condition you expected, realistically your bank or credit card is not going to rule in your favor. This is also a time-consuming process, and won't help with the immediate needs you described.
IMHO, your best and quickest way to get some of your money back is to resale it on eBay. Put it out there for $275 and you will claw back some of your money.

·11 months agoSounds like you received something "late." There are not guaranteed delivery dates. I like my Dyson vacuums - my advice would be to keep it. You can always use one more vacuum, I know I can.

·11 months agoWow – that’s an expensive hairdryer. Seriously – it must be amazing. Regardless, if it was just a “late“ delivery, my advice still stands.

·11 months agoYou had 30 days to open an INR case, eBay won't help you now.

If you plan to make more purchases through eBay, may I respectfully suggest that you read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers?

·11 months agoIm really sorry for your troubles. You had a thirty day window frame from the estimated date of delivery to file an item not received case. Its too late to get any help from Ebay now. But you can file a chargeback with your cc if thats what you used. Good luck.
