Got a refund and still have the return item.
Hi, just curious abt my situation right now about the refund and return item.
- I'm a buyer who bought an item but item is not as described (ask an info by sent messge abt item's condition by picture before purchase)
- I try to return, the seller claim that item description is clear and no response in message.
- I opened the case, got an confirmation that this item can be refunded.
- Seller open the dispute case for his/her reason. Ebay still give final decision that I can get refund by return the item.
- Disappointingly, seller never given the return shipping label and no response.
- Ebay steped in again, and gave me a return shipping label by ebay coz seller has no response (took ard 2 weeks)
- I returned the item with ebay's return shipping label within their time frame.
- Surprisingly, after many attempt delivery, no one pick up the item(signature required). Then the item was return back to me.
- Call the ebay what should I do next. Almost 2 weeks, ebay refund money to me and close the case and said I have a right to keep this item.
- After be silence almost 2 months, then seller sent me the message to request the item back and no sign of sorry for not accept the return.
I call the ebay again and ask can I really get both refund and the item? They still confirm I can have both because I did follow everything to ebay's protocal. Even seller needs it back. Should I send the item back? Will it be a problem if I just keep this item because I don't like seller's action before.

·8 months agoYou re entitled to the refund and the item as others have said. However, if the seller sent me a prepaid label for the return I'd gladly send it back, assuming I still had the item and are able to return it. Although after two months, I could see a situation where the item is no longer in my possession, so a return isnt possible.
We have no idea what your situation with the item is at this point

·8 months agoThe seller seems to have had many chances to have the item returned to them and they chose not to accept it back. Since you have been refunded by ebay, you dont have to send the item back you. If the seller messages you stating they will now pay the shipping, then its up to you if you wish to send it back. But if they are just harassing you to get the item back, then I would report them to ebay, delete your messages with them, and add them to your blocked list.

·8 months agoNormally I would not attempt to both get a refund and keep the item, but with the seller doing everything they could to obstruct you, I don't see any reason to return it. I probably still would return it if the seller reached out to me, but I wouldn't contact the seller myself.

·8 months agoSince you were refunded, you are done. You can but don't have to, message the seller and ask for a paid return label. But, no, you don't have to do any more. Sounds like the seller never wanted to pay the return shipping to get it back. So, yes you can keep it.
