it's not necessary to change your feedback in order to get a return and refund.
The seller's listing has 30 days free returns, meaning that if you open a return request for ANY reason, the seller has to pay for and provide a return label and issue a refund upon receipt of the return.
Note that the seller can request that ebay remove the feedback you left. Feedback policy doesn't allow you to refer to filing claims with ebay and paypal.
Again, just go to your order and open a return. No arguments and "deals" with the seller are necessary.
THe seller already refunded the price of the item so I cannot "open a return" - its the shipping that they agreed to pay but now, after I paid it, will only issue the refund if I give them a fake 5 star review

But had you opened the correct type of claim, you would have received your full refund - shipping included.
It was your mistake that you went about it the wrong way.
Ebay's buyer protection is second to none, often alleged to be unbalanced in favor of buyers. But buyers MUST go about filing properly.
We need a bit more information to determine how to proceed. Your probably action needs to be file for a return and the reason for the return. There should be no need to contact/communicate with the seller.
For the most part buyers have a 30 day money back guarantee.
Seller strung me along, asking for this, asking for that - all of which I provided. They finally refunded the original purchase but won't refund the $10.95 shipping that they already agreed to do unless I give them a fake 5 star review. I'll eat that - no way I'm going to allow them to extort a fake review out of me.
They agreed to pay return shipping in a mesage that I still have. Then, after I paid the return, they said they would only refund if I gave them a fake 5 star review

@fabrics24
The original listing had free shipping so the full purchase price is required to be refunded.
It's only when a seller has a separate shipping charge that they aren't required to refund for shipping.
@fatpat2011 If the return was due to Not As Described or defective then the seller would have had to return the shipping also. If you just wanted to return then the seller maybe didn't have to return the shipping.
And you are absolutely right about not leaving a false feedback.
@fatpat2011 All you had to do is file an ebay Not as described claim and return the item. The seller would have had to supply a return label and then when they received the item they would have had to give you a full refund.
Obviously the seller knew how to play the game and essentially cheated you out of the return shipping.
In any case there really was no need to contact the seller. Just file the claim next time
Correct - they messaged me and said they would also refund the shipping once the return was verified. Took them several says to "verify" after it had been delivered (via tracking info) but when I asked about the shipping that they said they would refund, they said they would only refund if I gave them a fake 5 star review
You should have never paid for the return anyway if it wasn't as described. In those cases the seller provides a paid label to you. If you sent it on your own then you are out that money.

·2 weeks agoThey shouldn't be refunding shipping. That money's gone. They don't even have it; The Post does.
Also, you can't name and shame people here; the mods will delete the parts of your messages naming the seller.

Is that correct?
