Failed Return
I requested a return 3 minutes after the purchase, and no action was taken in favor of the customer. Obviously, the seller has not terurn policy; they will not proceed with the cancellation, but it is EBA who should watch for their customers because at the end, this is EBAY's platform. I pause Ebay use for two years, and this time will be forever. What a terrible experience every time I deal with this platform.

·5 months agoHi @garcalfalfo
Buyers who often have reasons to change their minds (shortly after committing to purchase an item) probably would be happier using another platform.
eBay needs to balance its policies so that it is fair to BOTH buyers and sellers. Sellers are also its ‘customers‘.
In any case, requesting a return before we’ve received the item is simply the wrong action to take.

·5 months agoSo you buy something and within 3 minutes you want to cancel....and eBay is the bad guy providing a terrible experience?

·5 months agoEbay does watch out for its customers by having a 30 day moneyback guarantee. When you make a bid or purchase you enter into a contract with the seller. You agreed to purchase the item. It is your obligation to follow through. The seller must agree to the cancellation which will take longer than 3 minutes. I am unsure at this very time how long ago you requested the transaction being cancelled but 3 minutes is an unrealistic expectation.

·5 months agoI'm sure that you'll have plenty of people chime in that sellers don't have to honor cancellation requests, or even the possible-but-unlikely circumstance where it can't be cancelled. But, all things are relative.
Don't get me wrong, I buy a lot of things on eBay, as it is a good place for certain categories. BUT, I wouldn't think about eBay for so many things - pricing, hassle-factor, seller professionalism are huge drawbacks.

·5 months agoAssuming that you actually requested a cancellation rather than a return (because at that point you had nothing to return presumably), are you aware that a seller can decide whether or not to cancel a buyer's request? In other words, the seller does not have to agree to the request.

·5 months agoWhy did you purchase it in the first place? You cost your seller time and money. You can always resell it your self on eBay if you no longer want it. Next time use your watch list and think it over before clicking.

·5 months agoBuyers cannot ask for a return before the item has shipped. Do you mean cancel? Buyers can only request a cancellation, not require one. Sellers do not have to honor a cancellation request. In fact, some cannot cancel. Some sellers house there items at a warehouse, and when an order comes in, a cancellation is impossible. Always be sure when you hit buy it now.
