Expired Makeup Products
I ordered from a Seller on ebay (Makeup on a Budget) who misadvertised the product. First, the Seller indicated she/he had two of the product and sent me a refund immediately once realized. When I received the product, it was the wrong product. I was seeking hair gel and the product was advertised as such, but it was actually a hair primer, which is nothing like gel. I requested a refund from the Seller and the seller accepted. I did not know who is responsible for the costs of the return, so I contacted eBay and was advised the Seller is to send me a return label. I discovered the product was expired. It expired October 2022. I let the Seller know that it is expired and if he/she wanted to avoid shipping costs, I would just "pitch" it. It is laughable what the Seller thought I meant by that; I meant I would just throw it away as it is no good. We went back and forth and the Seller indicated he/she sent me a refund and I should contact eBay. I contacted eBay (for about the third time because they kept telling me it is too soon) and eBay indicated they could step in after this past weekend. I have been trying to reach eBay; the choice to ask them to step in is not available to me, or at least I can't find that option. When I called customer service, they will not let me speak to a representative (and I have spoken with one on two or three occasions). I am not giving up on this. I want my money back for a product that was 1) advertised as something it is not; and 2) that is actually expired.

·2 years agoSellers get I believe get something like 5 days before sending a refund in an open claim. Maybe I am wrong.
And although it is not necessary to send a photo...I would send a photo of expired product to seller to confirm the expired date. Just a thought.

·2 years agoAlso... there's no such thing as 'Makeup on a Budget'. I mean, what could possibly go wrong? Just a thought. 🤣

It seems we've lost you. I'm with the other posters... stop contacting eBay. The Return process is automated. If you've opened a claim, just sit tight until the claim allows you to escalate it to eBay. Done properly, you'll be made whole.

·2 years agoIs the case still open?
If they did issue the refund, the case should be closed.
The time it takes to receive the refund, depends on the funding source.
Could be a few days, few weeks or a couple months.

·2 years agoDid you file a "not as described" case?
Stop messaging the seller...
Stop contacting eBay CS.
If you filed a "not as described" case and you dont receive a refund OR a shipping label to return the item .... in 3 days you will be able to ask eBay to step in.
I tried to read your solid block of words but .... It wasnt very readable, so I hope the answer isnt in the block of word...
Best of luck on your return.
