Entering a review on an Ebay seller
Morning, I bought an item on June 6, 2025 from a seller who lives in China, i live in the U.K. I received the item June 18, 2025. I returned the item via Royal Mail, as instructed, on June 20, 2025. The item is now, on September 9, 2025, supposedly stuck in Chinese customs. I have contacted Ebay customer service several times and have been told i did not return the item within the alloted time. That is not accurated. The seller refuses to refund me - £135 - because he has not received the item. Ebay has denied my refund on a basis of eligibility for a guaneteed refund.
So, how do i proceed. Never shop with either the seller and or never shop with Ebay. These are options that will most likely be self-fullfilling. I post her to warn other about doing business with any seller in China. I did nothing wrong or incorrect, neither seller or Ebay has acted in good faith and returned my money. I guess it is buyer beware. I haven't finished my appeal process with Ebay, should they refund me i will be back here to update the facts.
Thanks for listening, R. L.

·10 months agoUS Buyer/Seller - if the process is similar between ebay sites in the UK & US, I assume you opened a return case & entered the tracking as the process directed? Or did you return it on your own? ebay would only pay attention if you use their in place systems.
As for customs in China - if it has not been picked up - that means either 1) they refuse to pay the duties to get it back or 2) it is damaged & customs won't let it enter. Either way, expect it to randomly return to you within a year or so potentially.

Please remove the link and seller name in your post - you cant name buyers or sellers here.
You may want to ask this on the UK site.
