New Balance is being sent to authenticators? Really? NEW BALANCE? I mean, they're great shoes, I use them for running, not cheap but...New Balance. I guess I will not be selling my several pair here.
It is not the brand but the dollar valuation of the item that likely sent it to authentication.
I have purchased shoes 20 times now on ebay. Not had a cause to seek a return in any of the cases. They were exactly as advertised & expected. I may just have been lucky. But I doubt it. I research my purchases over a decent period of time. I do not purchase on impulse. All I can say is, if purchasing online if difficult to do, then don't do it.
In terms of any authentication service, they are all 100% a scam to just collect more money from a willing sucker, that find their OCD requires a second opinion to verify what they bought is what they bought. Most of the world goes on just fine w/o authentication. May wish to rethink things if you are not capable of doing that process personally....
The only thing that you have sold in the last 90 days on this account is a Barbie doll listing ... no sneakers.
So are you just fishing to see if others have had issues with the Authentication process before you list some sneakers or do you sell on another account and had a transaction go sideways? And if so what happened?
And if a different account why not post here on that account?
Purchase new balance sneakers for $236. Received them and the box says 6.5 med, my size. Opened box and they were 6.5 wide. Contacted seller. Returned them (they go to authentication address. Get message today that they refuse refund because they "weren't in same condition" which is a lie! I did not wear them or remove tags. I am appealing before I go to Better Business Bureau.

You would probably get better results talking with a CS rep on eBay for Business on Facebook. Send them a message explaining your situation. They maybe able to help you.

Don’t worry about the BBB - they are a joke. They have no sway over a company like eBay. The might fool smaller local businesses- but very few people would go to BBB for recommendations on which businesses to use. Maybe google reviews, yelp, etc., but not BBB.
"The eBay Authenticity Guarantee tag must remain attached to the item and untampered with to be eligible for a return. If the shoes pass the authenticity and condition inspection, they will be returned to the seller. Otherwise, the shoes will be sent back to the buyer."
I will try to do that today. Does it have to be $236 exactly, including shipping and tax?

Hit them where it hurts: Stop trying to get a refund at eBay. Give your return tracking number to your card issuer @kryskrytters and file a Credit Not Processed chargeback.
Why Would a Customer File a Chargeback With Reason Code "Credit Not Processed?" "Credit Not Processed" chargebacks are filed by customers who have returned their purchase but did not receive a refund from the merchant.
Done.
PS eBay pays a membership fee to them, so BBB is not about to bite the hand that feeds it.
Not really sure if that will work since the Authentication service passed the shoes the 1st time (possibly in error). They were then sent to the buyer who states they are the wrong size and sent them back to authentication for a refund. Then authentication denied the return due to the shoes not being in the same condition as sent. Authentication should be returning the shoes back to the buyer.
If the buyer then decides to try to return them to the seller himself the seller would be under no obligation to refund as the shoes passed authentication the 1st time. I am not a fan of the authentication process due to the many complaints that have been reported here on the boards but it' looks like this is now between the buyer, authenticator and eBay to hash out.
I am not even sure you can do a chargeback on items sent for Authentication.

Your card issuer @steady2304 has no info if you had soup or okra with whatever food you charged $12 on your card.
Likewise they don't know what Authentication is, just that you are charging back $236 because you have a tracking number for the return of the merchandise and haven't received a refund.
Worse, your card issuer is only reverse billing either "Adyen" or "PayPal" because that's the merchant's name on the chargeback. The chargeback is not against eBay or steady2304: Adyen or PayPal is the merchant of record, the name shown beside the $236 charge.
Further since the cardholder made a valid attempt to resolve the dispute, the card rules are the merchant's return policy becomes moot if the buyer received a size 6.5 wide instead of a size 6.5 med regardless authenticated or fumigated, and since e.g. PayPal doesn't have a return policy on the $236 they collected, that's moot squared.
Thanks everyone! EBAY SUCKS. Authentication is FRAUD and totally ripped me off over 200 dollars. After being a regular customer for 25 years, I am closing my account. USING MERCARI AND POSHMARK...SO MUCH EASIER AND YOU GET YOUR PAYMENTS SO MUCH FASTER!!!!

·2 years agoI think we have a lot of postings here where sellers and buyers are "fishing".
And we of course give solutions when we shouldn't be so quick to give out.
Like the "just dispute it with your credit card".....
I feel we should read into the seller and buyer more before giving them how to
take advantage of a seller or buyer or what to do to get a refund or dispute this or that.

They don't have the power to do anything but take complaints.
