·9 months agoDon't worry, grann-4629, the First Amendment protects* you too, as a visitor, so, Scouts Honor, I promise you that Trump will not freeze your bank account.
*The five freedoms it protects: speech, religion, press, assembly, and the right to petition the government. Together, these five guaranteed freedoms make the people of the United States of America the freest in the world.

·9 months agoHey, thanks Pal!
Unfortunately, after all of the wonderful places we have visited in your part of the world and after meeting many great people, we are part of the reason the numbers of Canadians crossing the border is declining at a rapid rate ... we have taken the USA off our list of tourist destinations.
I know there will be a few people here who will welcome this fact, so fire away if you wish. It's just very sad to see those five freedoms eroding in the US, unless everything I see, read or hear about POTUS and his childish nonsense is fake news. I wouldn't worry about him freezing my bank account ... I don't have one ... but I would worry about getting shot by his armed and masked goon squad.

I wouldn't call them goon squads but the masks bother me in as much as masking your human face somehow makes you less human, if that makes sense.
It's a funny thing that where I live the only thing separating us from British Columbia is Mt Olympus, and I swear that the people in the upper Olympic Peninsula seem more Canadian then American.
Have a good one.
PS I heard that now that Venezuela is online Alberta may be hurting. You guys need to get going on that Northern Gateway pipeline.

You tried to wear a Lone Ranger mask during Covid? I lost a close relation and dear friend to Covid, somehow the ha ha escapes me.

You mean freezing like Trudeau did with the truckers protesting? As far as I've heard no one here has had their bank account frozen for protesting.
No worry of getting shot if one doesn't insert oneself into the middle of a law enforcement action in progress in an aggressive manner.
Myself I worry more about being hurt/killed by the people being arrested vs the arrestors....................

Huh.

Isn't there also an internet Rule 34?

·9 months agoIf you received an item that is not as described, and wish to return it, you do not need the seller's name or address.
All you need to do is open an item not as described case within 30 days of having received the item. No response from the seller within 3 days? Then you return to the case and ask eBay to step in. They'll refund you from the seller's funds and tell you to keep the item.
If, however, the seller wants the item back, he needs to send you a prepaid return shipping label. When he gets the item back, you will be refunded.
eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers covers this and is really quite good.
Have you read the MBG?

OP9 months agoIn this case i was suspicous that this seller was a CHINA seller and wanted to flush them out so everyone knows who they are , instead there was one commentor on this message board took it upon themselves to insult me and i called her out on it , [Removed by Moderator],i figure their probably from california , anyway we need united states citizens on here selling us made items . there is way too much stuff on here thats junk copied by that country we are America afterall this is our country. And we do have a first amendment and free speech alot of us fought for that .

·9 months agoJust a question: Do you ever shop at WalMart? Do you notice where the majority of that merchandise comes from?
mechanic1930
OP9 months agoSince alot of these on here dont know i buy food only at walmart, yes i know walmart thrives on china and we need american goods not copies ! i knew sam walten personally and he would not like what he would see today.

But you're entitled to your own opinion of course.

·9 months agoOr, did you ever do an inventory of the stuff in your home? Probably more than half of that stuff was made in China. I have owned guitars that were made in China with awesome sound and playability.
I believe the problems many people have wrt China has nothing to do with the stuff they make, but rather with the fact that they make it faster, better, and cheaper.

This is Ebay, owned by Ebay, and their rules, not the U.S. government.
grann-4629
·9 months agoBut doesn't eBay have to follow US Government rules when making their own rules?
bonjourami
·9 months agoNo, Ebay owns this site, not the government.
grann-4629
·9 months agoSo if I make up my own site, like an eBay, I don't have to follow government rules?
Well then, anyone looking for home-made bombs, machetes, drugs, or other offensive material, come to my site - the government can't do anything about it 'cause it's my rules.
ETA: wrt Free Speech, look around. It's disappearing, partly because of Mrs. Orangutan's first born.

·9 months agoEbay is a privately owned site, subject to their own rules for their site, which you agree to with their U/A when you join.Joining Ebay is a privilege, not a 'right'. Of course no city or state is going to allow you to sell illegal items like home made bombs, etc...Im sorry, that doesnt make sense to me.

·9 months ago@grann-4629
What specific protection does the First Amendment guarantee?
bonjourami
·9 months agoNo, freedom of speech (First Amendment) doesn't fully apply to eBay forums because eBay is a private company setting its own rules, not the government, so they can restrict hateful, threatening, obscene, or harassing language on their platforms, even if such speech might be protected elsewhere. While you have rights to express opinions, eBay prohibits specific harmful content like threats, hate speech, and abuse in their community areas to maintain a positive user experience, and users must follow these.

·9 months agoSo much fuss for so little knowledge:
There is NO SUCH thing as a 7/8" fitting (when it comes to Copper Fittings- used for HVAC and Plumbing).
3/4" fittings ARE 7/8 on the INSIDE because 3/4" pipe IS 7/8" on the OUTSIDE, allowing that pipe to go INTO the fitting.
The 3/4" is the 'inner diameter' of the pipe.
