How about an E-Bay ''Court''? Constituted of 10-12 members of Good Standing, ethnicities & countries, if the involved are from diff.such (to further avoid poss.bias), interested in making E-Bay even better, and of course E-Bay reps & specialists in the field. Such ''court''could work across all types of transactions. Besides showing members that toxic matters are dealt with fairly,not least the peer-review, it would give E-Bay free promotion by showing this site want to be seen as a proponent of free & fair enterprise. If you think the idea is reasonable and consistent with fairness, then I think i could suggest a perfect test-case.

Resolution of buyer-seller disputes are to be made in accordance with US consumer protection law and credit card policies and agreements.
Any decision to offer less protection for the buyer would have to be funded by Ebay. Any reduction in proof requirements by this group would have to be paid by Ebay.
Many of not most Ebay sellers thought that PayPal Seller Protection came for free, PayPal had to fund many of the seller protection claims.
PayPal continues its efforts to save money by limiting Seller Protection.
All I see coming as a result of such a court, is a seller fee increase.
I get value for my Ebay fees, but I do not want to pay any more than I do now. And I do not want to subsidize other sellers who do not have enough profit to pay for what the law requires them to accept responsibility for.
There are too many sellers selling products which are high risk, appeal to unethical buyers, and don't make money. They should not be subsidized by other sellers.

Your suggestion sounds fair, but unworkable. I don’t think most buyers would be willing to wait for their issue to be addressed by 10-12 people when they can simply phone their credit card company for a chargeback if their claim stalls in eBay.

·2 years agoIt would be hard to propose this to eBay because they do not want to hear any ideas you may have.
Sometimes when they want your opinion they will offer you a survey.
