Deceptive add by a seller - how to report thew seller?
A seller sold me car injectors that was listed as a fit but caused error codes. I bought the injectors on Aug 31 but could not install them prior to October as I restored the car. By the time I discovered the issue was caused by the new injectors. it was November. I contacted the seller who dragged me in endless messaging until now, saying finally that I used the part and thus there is no refund! to fin the part defective it had to be used!
I did give a good feeback upon delivery as the look of the part was identical to the OEM.
How can I get the money back gurarantee?
How can I report this seller to warn others about deceptive add?

OP8 months agoSome replies are just unbelievable. The injectors are either faulty or injected too much fuel for the car. The mechanics did all tests, changed o2 sensors. Fact is the car with OEM injectors runs fine. Car a with the online injectors throw codes after 30 to 45 mn. With old sensors or new sensors. Is not this clear enough?
so yeah. I would not sell the injectors to fool someone else.
The seller made a deceptive advertising saying the injectors was compatible then turns around saying his refund policy is void because I installed them? This is a ridiculous statement.
Ebay 30 days policy on such type of products is useless especially when add is deceptive. You need 6 month and surely something about deceptive products.
Anyway thanks for your best response. I opened a dispute with my CC for a refund and they'll go after the seller. I have all the documentation anyway. My advice? never buy parts with possible internal defects this way. At the end it will cost you much more.

·8 months agoSo they charged you/changed the 02 Sensors instead of using their $40 Fuel Injector Test kit? Known as 'just throw parts at it'.
Brilliant.

OP7 months agoI am not sure why most reply blame me or the mechanic rather than the vendor of a defective product. I said before that the injectors appeared to work fine upon testing. You cannot test for a mechanical nozzle that spray a little bit more fuel than spec over time. it took over 1/h to see the TRIMs steadily go up until the codes show up and we questioned everything. That is all we could reasonably test.
I got refunded via my credit card after providing all documentation.
I would urge buyers to stay away from Vendors using Chinese parts from China. This vendor told me the return was void because I install the injectors and I could order another set. This problem would only show upon installing them! This is a scam to sell untested stuff with automatic warranty voiding upon installation.

·8 months agoIt does not matter that the seller had you going through messages for a long time. If you contacted them more than 30 days after you received the parts, it was already too late, and the seller was not required to do anything. Have you confirmed the parts are actually the issue, as @stainlessenginecovers pointed out?

OP8 months agoYes. Installing oem injectors fixed the issue. I will no longer buy car parts from eBay. It is not worth it. I had to go to a mechanic for a $800 repair.
The 30 days is ok when you have a visual issue or fit but functionally it means nothing. the part was visually correct and fitting. I had to run long distance to throw the codes. It is a bad design pushing a little too much fuel that specs. that was far from an obvious issue.
Besides this was not the only work on the car so it took me 30 days to install them and then the troubleshooting.

If the parts were indeed faulty or the wrong thing, then I agree, file a chargeback with your credit card issuer. eBay cannot help you at this point, and that is normal for any retailer (the specific timeframes vary, but there is always a limit), but your credit card issuer may be able to still help.

·8 months agoPaying $800 to a mechanic does not prove a thing. You can buy an 'injector testing kit' for about $40 at any auto parts store. Not just a 'reader'. I'll bet this was an older car (20yr or older) and the 'mystery' could easily be 100 other sensors. I had a 1992 Corvette, obviously Fuel Injected and this car would be fine, and a month later not. Couldn't get a straight answer on 'code' because pre 1994, is OBD1, and pretty much no dealer or mechanic has the software needed to disect what a reader will tell you. I changed every sensor, map, fuel injectors, ground etc. (grounds have a way of rusting/breaking and throwing codes) and nothing worked. Until the following week when car worked for months. Then it didn't. Corvette shop that works on 1953 up could NOT figure out what the issue was. Either ECM (computer is faulty or).

·8 months agoThe MBG gives you 30 days to open an item not as described case with eBay. ALL buyers need to read and understand that going in.
Unfortunately, that option has expired for your transaction. How about a chargeback on your credit card?

·8 months agoeBays money back guarantee is only within 30 days of receiving the item. eBay will do nothing if you have already exceeded this timeframe. If you have already left them feedback, the only thing you can do is add a follow up to your original feedback.

·8 months agoNothing to report. Your computer is throwing the code; not the injectors. There could be up to 100 other issues and either injectors were never the problem or??
Either way, no excuses. You get 30 days. Period. Even Walmart sticks to their 90 days and does NOT budge.
