Crystalconsultakron refusing to refund
Seller was very friendly and communicated well. I returned the items as agreed, on the same day I received the package. He then went silent and didn't communicate any more. I provided tracking details and continued to ask that he issued a refund as he promised.
I filed a dispute, at this time he responded and said I shouldn't have filed a dispute. In his defense report, he is claiming that I never returned the package.
I feel scammed, it's $400 which is a lot on my end.

·2 years agoI notice this seller of a sale past 6 months...did you make another purchase with same seller within 30 days?
Did you do this within the 30 days of item received for a refund?
After 31 days seller has the option of not refunding you.
"returned...on the same day"...buying from a seller would normally not treat "repeat buyers" as such.
"My bank....say it would take 60 days"....actually it only takes about maybe 2 weeks...not 2 months.

OP2 years agoI received the item on January 11th 2024. I returned it the same day and package was delivered January 16th, 2024. After days of not hearing from the seller, I filed a charge back with my bank however, it took over a month to hear back from my bank in which they stated that seller claimed I never attempted to return the package and therefore not getting a refund.
i have provided all sources including eBay, the tracking number and messages between me and seller where he provided return address and a promise to promptly issue a refund.

·2 years agoSo confused...this is April...and you are asking for help from something in January. Why the delay?
Once you do a credit card dispute with your bank eBay steps aside...and you are now dealing with your bank.
I don't know if this is your first dispute with your bank or are their others? Banks are pretty good at taking care of their customers as long as there aren't a lot of disputes with other companies.
I am going by experience as a seller and buyer winning and losing a dispute.
Winning or losing a dispute eBay will send you a notification about the outcome of a dispute.

OP2 years agoI filed a dispute in January, I received the answer in March. The answer was, seller via eBay claimed that I never returned and therefore not getting a refund. I reopened the case right away after receiving eBay’s reply.
This time however, someone advised me to report the seller to eBay as well, which I’ve done but I am not getting any response from eBay yet.

·2 years agoThis will seem harsh. Let me apologize in advance for that.
However, eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers is very good. The catch is that the buyer has to be familiar with it, know exactly how it works and to use it in a timely fashion.
You evidently did not know about the MBG and went about seeking restitution in your own way and that's the reason for your current issue.
Since you went to your bank for help, the MBG is now not available to you. I hope your bank can help you.
Please now take the time to read the terms of the MBG. This should not have happened like this.

OP2 years agoSeller provided an address for me to return. I went to united postal and shipped the items.

@brewimb0
I'm with @lamber9347 here. Exactly what was "agreed" regarding the Return? If it wasn't through an eBay MBG claim, how did you do it? Expand, please...

OP2 years agoSeller proved me an address to return the package, which I did on the same day that I received. I provided the tracking number and then after the package was delivered he went silent.
After I disputed the charge, he wrote to me and said that I should remove the dispute so his account gets unlocked. I declined because I wasn't sure if he was going to disappear on me again.
In his report with ebay, he says I never returned the package and therefore will not get a refund.

·2 years agoWhy did you want to return the item? It's too bad you didn't know to open a return with eBay instead of just shipping it back to the seller.
If the item isn't as described the seller is supposed to pay return shipping, but it sounds like you paid that yourself. If it's a remorse return and a case is opened the return shipping usually falls on the buyer, unless the seller states they cover that in their return policy.
What kind of dispute did you eventually open? Can you enter the tracking number into the eBay case?
... I see that you said your bank is trying to get your funds back... did you do a chargeback in the middle of your eBay case? If so then you'll have to rely on your bank.

OP2 years agoI ordered a wrong item, I noticed this after about 30 mins of purchase of which I notified the seller immediately. He said I was too late, item had already shipped but assured me not to worry. He provided a shipping address and promised to refund promptly as long as I returned the package unopened, which I did.
i have provided the tracking number to all sources, including eBay, my bank and seller. They all seem to be ignoring this part of it.

·2 years agoDid you actually create a return case via eBay or did the seller simply send you a return label?

OP2 years agoI wasn't aware of returning items via ebay. He just told me it was okay to return the package and that he would promptly issue a refund. I used my own funds to return on my own. Tracking details show that package was delivered timely.
He has told eBay that I never attempted to returned the item. I've written to ebay to step in but I am not getting a response from ebay either. My bank is trying to get the funds for me but say it will take 60 days. This after the seller is claiming I never returned.

·2 years ago@brewimb0 You need to use this experience as a lesson for future. This platform offers a money back guarantee and you would have had no issues with being fully refunded had you followed the policies. You would not have been out anything except for your time. There are millions of daily transactions on this platform, therefore returns are all automated. It sounds as if you've opened a dispute using your credit card, which now takes you out of the return process once again. Bank disputes normally all finalize on the buyers end so you'll have to wait that out.
I would suggest you stop messaging with this seller, they led you incorrectly from the start and now continue to hold you up. If they have the item returned, they should just refund your money. I'm sorry you encountered a bad seller, it happens sometimes. Best of luck to you....
