Counterfeit Morgans
Over the last couple years have been collecting Morgans with eBay. Went to sell some of them and they are not real. Have tried for two evenings to report it to eBay and it’s impossible. Every coin that I have purchased except the graded ones are fake.

OP10 months agoI never thought of it as every coin is fake. I trusted EBay but not at this point. I have two that I can return because they are within 30 days. I also have the option of turning in to Secret service and something may happen about the problem. Sending back and getting your money back does not do anything for the butholes that are selling fake coins. I have written down as much information about the transactions and will try to hopefully get something helpful done.

eBay does not screen listings, so if you think that eBay does your trust is badly misplaced. eBay has a money back guarantee, but buyers must actually take action to use it, not passively "trust" in it.
Sending back and getting your money back does not do anything for the butholes that are selling fake coins.
A buyer getting a refund from the scammer is the only thing that scammers actually fear, and it is the best way to ensure that their eBay accounts are not a source of profit. Once you have received a counterfeit coin, anything short of getting a full refund lets the scammers keep your money and keep on scamming, which is what scammers want.
If you have waited too long to use eBay's money back guarantee, you may still have some recourse through your payment method. Many credit cards offer up to six months of protection for items that are not as described, but you should try to use eBay's guarantee if at all possible.

Counterfeit items are not allowed to be listed on eBay at all. No one is authorized to sell counterfeit items. That fact alone does not stop some people from trying to sell them, however.
The problem is that unscrupulous or uninformed sellers can list genuine items and then deliver counterfeit items.
It is not always possible to look at a listing and know in advance exactly what, if anything, the seller intends to deliver. For one thing, a scammer can simply copy a listing from a genuine seller, using a genuine photo of a genuine item.
Except for a few specific categories of items that go through authentication, eBay never sees what the seller ships or the what the buyer receives, so there is nothing for eBay to check unless someone complains about what was received by invoking eBay's money back guarantee.
Sellers are responsible for the descriptions they provide, and buyers should not assume that eBay screens the listings in advance.
As long as counterfeits exist and there are folks trying to sell them, buyers will still have to be on the lookout for them, and avoid deals that are obviously too-good-to-be-true, whether they are being sold by accounts registered overseas or by domestic sellers wittingly or unwittingly buying counterfeits from overseas to sell here.
Buyers that doubt their ability to distinguish a genuine article from a counterfeit one should only consider purchasing from trustworthy sellers that have an established reputation for delivering exactly what was described, and should avoid deals that are too-good-to-be-true, or deals that are offered by inexperienced sellers that might disappear soon after the transaction is made, or else be prepared to get items authenticated by trusted sources within thirty days to be able to take advantage of eBay's money back guarantee.

·10 months agoIf you had any delivered less them 30 days ago, you can file a case with eBay. After that and if paid by credit card, contact your card company.
The only bullion I would buy on line is chicken or beef.

·10 months agoSeller with 55.9% positive feedback (one of the worse I've ever seen and still selling) in Hong Kong with other items listed as shipped from United States and you expect real ones?
Common. Vet your sellers at least a little.
Don't mean to sound overly harsh but wow it seems as if you did no research on what I assume is the most recent seller by looking at your feedback.
eBay isn't going to do it for you. You have to do it..........................

·10 months agoStart with this premis....every coin purchased on ebay is fake, if you buy one and receive it, get it immediately authenticated ,so if it is fake you can return within eBay MBG time period. That is the only thing that will get ebay's attention. And end with this premis...don't buy coins on ebay
