Confusion over return (Please Help!)
I received a sofa and it couldn't be assembled due faulty manufacturing. I repackaged it and hit the return button in my purchases. A returns label was issued for Royal Mail. This can't be used as Royal Mail don't accept parcels over 2kg (it's a sofa!!) I contacted the seller and they arranged a courier who never turned up. This has now happened on three separate occasions. I can't keep spending full days (8am-6pm is the collection window) waiting on this person not showing up. I now realise I'm being given the runaround and the seller has no intention of collecting the sofa which I purchased almost a month ago.
My question is how do I proceed to receiving a refund? eBay keeps spitting the "you have a pending return" line and there is no option to change this except 'cancel return' and I don't want to do this because it will close the case.
Surely eBay knows a Royal Mail return isn't sufficient for a sofa. Is this some kind of scam?
What can I do? I didn't use Paypal, I used eBay's payment system. So should I just contact my bank?

I hate chargebacks because eBay doesn't like a buyer doing them and the bank doesn't like someone doing so many...

I also think that filing a chargeback with your credit card company would be the easiest solution.
BUT ... if you wanted to deal further with eBay first ... I wanted to suggest you contact them from your home site: www.ebay.co.uk/. You can't reach them from here.
Cheers!

If this has happened more than once then why buy furniture a third time?

OP1 year agoNo, I waited in for the collection on three separate dates I was given, not purchased three times.
