Can't return fake sneakers that passed Ebay Authenticity guarantee
Sneakers I received, despite the Authenticity guarantee, are 100% fake. Photos attached in which the difference in the sole is clearly visible. The triangular section of the sole on the left sneaker is flat, unlike the right sneaker, where it is rough as it should be. The left sneaker, which is 100% fake hangs NFS Tag from Ebay, I did not disconnect it.
I requested a return but the case was closed by Ebay because "items covered by Authenticity guarantee can’t be returned if the seller doesn’t accept returns". Ok. Then I filed an appeal on the grounds of "There's an error in authentication", but despite the obvious photo proofs provided, I received a response from Ebay - "After reviewing your appeal, we won't be able to change the outcome of the case, unfortunately.
We kept the original outcome because we determined that the original decision was correct."
So I have the fake sneakers with an Ebay Authenticity guarantee NFC tag on it and I can't do anything about it.

·2 years agoYou should sell them on ebay and use the same authenticity guarantee and when they pull them up say... SEEEEEEE!!!!!!

·2 years agoWhy buy another pair when you already have a pair? And they're the same design. I know, a silly question.
A lot of these gym shoes are made in 3rd world 🌎 countries.
No returns mean no returns with authentication.
And how do we know which pair is real? Easy to take off tag and put it on other shoe and return the fakes.

·2 years agoWe have been sheep long enough. The entire premise/promise of every GUARANTEE is an "OR ..." for recourse.
Does the eBay Authenticity Guarantee have an "OR ..." as any recourse?

If it sells and passes the Authenticity guarantee you win and get your money.
If it sells and fails the Authenticity guarantee you win as eBay would be proven wrong and have some explaining to do.

Ebay's authenticators say they're authentic. So authentic you can't get your money back. And like it or not they're the final arbiters in this case.
And wouldn't you only be selling them "one" fake? 🙂

OP3 years agoYep, the Ebay Authenticity guarantee will either help you buy original sneakers if you're lucky, or, in the case of a fake one, it guarantees you the impossibility of admitting an authentication error and returning

·3 years agoThe fear is whose to say that anyone can’t have a fake pair already in possession to do a switcheroo of one shoe for the photos. Rinse and repeat. See how it becomes a you-we-us said, they said thing. Some things are hard to prove without a doubt when it comes to mail order. Best to buy/sell collectible items in person or just buy direct from the brand itself.
Not that a switcheroo is what you are doing but the thought is always there in general of one party’s word against another. eBay was not there when you received, not there when the authenticators shipped. Having someone come to your house to witness won’t work because fake merch can be moved off premise before the witness arrives. No one would know for sure what really happened except God and you.

OP3 years agoBuy items in person or buy direct from the brand itself? If we lived in Luxembourg, then yes, but I can't go across 10 states for sneakers - that's why ebay exists. It is also almost impossible to buy from the brand, because the average one release is 30,000 pairs, and those who want to buy tens of millions around the world. Nike sells these sneakers on a raffle and the chances are very low to win the opportunity to buy.
And Ebay Authenticity guarantee is an official ebay service, and they hang their NFC tag which cannot be removed and hung on another sneaker - it tears. So I have in my hands 100% the sneaker on which Ebay put their sign that it is original. But it's not original and ebay doesn't care about that

Try the E-bay for business on FB. Sometimes they can be more helpful .

OP3 years agoThe problem is not only with the sole, it's just the most obvious. Also not the correct size stickers inside, the lack of a specific stamp inside the box, and so on.
And by the way - send one original sneaker and one fake is a common practice. You have 10 pairs of original sneakers, 10 pairs of fake ones. You mix them. When there is at least one real sneaker in the box, your chances of passing the authentication are doubled. And I’m sure to save time, only one sneaker out of two is checked at least somehow carefully

OP3 years agoDid the Nike factory have the wrong mold for the outsole of the sneaker? Very unlikely. It's just that the guys who check sneakers should probably spend not 10 seconds on a pair, but at least 30 seconds.
I understand that there may be errors and so on and fake sneakers can be authenticated, I have no questions about this. I don't understand why Ebay takes a stand against the buyer and considers the decision of their sneaker inspection contractor to be the ultimate truth. Especially since my case is quite simple and obvious to anyone. But no.
Under Ebay MBG, it says "sneakers inspected under Authenticity Guarantee are considered final sale and can not be returned".
And yes, Ebay also removed my negative feedback on the seller because of course it is absolutely impossible for the buyer to receive a fake after Ebay Authenticity guarantee. Lol
So brilliant - it turns out there is simply no better place to sell fakes than through Ebay Authenticity guarantee which can only really guarantee is that the buyer will be left with fake sneakers and no money, with zero return possibility.

But @ryndinalex the sole on the left looks bad. Are they both fake, and not a real paired with a fake?

OP3 years agoPerhaps both are fakes, maybe only the one with a flat triangle on the sole. Because the original must have a triangle with a texture, 100%
