Recently, I sold of a pair of Nike sneakers, listed under "authenticity guarantee" with NO RETURN available. The item was sent to eBay's authenticator who inspected and verified the item authentic and consistent with the listing. Then it was shipped to the actual buyer. 7 days after the sneakers were delivered, buyer asked ebay for a return authorization which, of course, was denied. Then buyer escalated the case claiming that "the shoe box was damaged" and that "the sneakers didn't seem to him to be of good quality for the money he paid".Of course, being this an authenticity guarantee listing, and considering tha the item was inspected by EBAY'S AUTHENTICATOR who VERIFIED THE ITEM and found it to be consistent with the listing (otherwise, the item would have been returned to me, the seller, and the buyer would have been refunded right then and there), I'm fighting the case. I think that whatever happened to the shoe box after it left my hands, including any mishandling and/or damage caused to it at eBay's authenticator or by the actual buyer, after the package was delivered, is certainly NOT my responsibility. The item left my hands in absolutely perfect condition. Surprisingly, moments ago I found a message from the buyer asking me for "a return label or address", which of course I will not provide. Now I feel that this buyer is pressuring me. I thought that in these type of cases, buyer is NOT supposed to contact seller directly. Can anybody clarify this for me if this behaviour is permitted on eBay? Thank you very much!
