buyer want a return but this is not included in my policy
Summary: ashtafeela is facing an issue with a buyer who wants to return items despite their policy of no returns on opened products. Participants in the discussion advised that eBay's policies, particularly the Money Back Guarantee (MBG), often override individual seller policies and favor buyers who claim items are not as described (INAD). If ashtafeela doesn't handle the return request per eBay's process, they risk losing the items, refunds, and incurring fees. Similar advice and experiences were shared by others, including jenniqd, indicating the importance of aligning seller policies with eBay's rules, especially for apparel and international sellers.

Those prices scream fake.

·1 month agoIf the buyer files the correct case on eBay, in this case INAD, you will be paying to have the item returned and then crediting the buyer 100%. Your return policy does not override ebay's policies on MBG

I told her i dont do anything outside of ebay and she can request a return through ebay. She responded she just want to confirm my address she already talked to ebay ,. To which I responded I will not except returns not through ebay. Am I wrong I dont even except return for items that dont fit . This was a bra .

·1 month ago · EditedIf they file for an official return through eBay, accept it. Apparel is unique, you can describe an item correctly but you can never describe how it will fit that particular person, maybe the straps dig in, the claps hit an uncomfortable spot on the body, material is rough, who knows...but I do think in these cases the buyer has a right to a refund upon the return.
Personally for the reason I just mentioned I cant imagine ever buying clothes/apparel from anyone who doesn't accept returns

·1 month agoSince this was trading cards, did the buyer open a case with eBay within 3 days of receiving it? The MBG works differently in that category.
I see you are located in Pakistan. You need to be very careful. A buyer opening a case, for any reason, is considered a BBE (bad buyer experience), and having those opened can rapidly lead to suspension for international sellers.

If buyer files an INAD, you don't have a choice.

·1 month agoDon't know how long you've been selling on eBay, but, if you really believe you have a chance to refute an item not as described case, it's time for you to go back and read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers.
PS: Time for rational thinking: How could a buyer determine if the purchased item is correct and without any issues if he didn't open the package?

·1 month ago · EditedThe notion that a seller can prevail with a "no refund policy" is false.
Here's how it will likely go. The buyer will request a refund saying the item was not as described. It does not matter if this is true. You will counter by saying, "I do not accept refunds" or "as stated in my listing blah blah, blah" or "Since the package has been I open, I am declining your request for a refund." It will not matter what you say in response. After 3 days the buyer will ask eBay to step in. When this happens eBay will refund the buyer everything and allow the buyer to keep the item(s). eBay will then take the funds from you. More, eBay will not refund any of the fees you paid. In the end, you will lose and then you will lose.
It's going to go much better if you message the buyer and say, "I am so sorry that this didn't work our for you. Please, feel free to return the item for a full refund."
If you have not already done so, you should read eBay's Money Back Guarantee.

·1 month agoBuyers are allowed to open a package to inspect an item, and they must handle it with reasonable care. Your return policy has to align with eBays.

·1 month agoThe buyer can file an INAD (Item Not As Described) return request and will probably win.
If you accept the return and refund in full, you will be reimbursed your Ebay Final Value Fee. If you do not authorize the return, Ebay will probably refund and you will lose the item and the full amount of the refund, including the Final Value Fee.
