Buyer says Item arrived damaged but didn't want to show photos a asking for return/refund Help pls
Hello, I need your help with a difficult case .
I sold a cello for 7500€ , and the buyer says it arrived broken. He's opened a return but is only demanding a refund of €900. And he says he will keep the Cello .
I told him to send me photos of the damage and then I will refund him the €900.
But he then wrote to me that he had already taken the cello to a violin maker for resto
ration (within one day).
I offered him a refund of €700 just to resolve the situation; I don't want any trouble.
But now he says he wants €1500. and he told that he spoke to eBay and they confirmed that €1500 is appropriate. I don't believe him. How can eBay assess something like this without photos or an expert opinion? I think he's lying. What can I do? Will I lose my money and the cello too how you think ebay will decide ? Is here a ebay member who can help ? Can someone tell me who can helps ? did someone know how i can contact ebay by phone ???

They can keep it, or send it back. No scammy business.

·6 months agoDid you only agree to that in messages, or did you use the function in the return case to offer it? If you did it the official way, the amount can’t be changed, but the buyer can decline the offer and force the return.

An Ebay rep who follows Ebay policy would not suggest a partial refund or the amount of a partial refund.
This is a lying, cheating, no good buyer. He will either not return the item or return something else if you stand your ground.
There is no reason to have to assess the damage, because partial refunds can only occur by voluntary agreement between buyer and seller, and this buyer refuses to provide any reason to negotiate.
There is no reason for you to contact Ebay. Accept the return and provide a prepaid shipping label. You will have met your responsibility as a seller.
