Buyer returned item HORRIBLY packaged and damaged... Recourse?
After an already dramatic sequence of events leading up to this point, I have received my macbook pro, back in my hands. This is the one that the buyer claimed was not as described, one month after receiving it.
Well, the dude shipped it, loose, in a bubble mailer that could fit a small dog. No joke this guy shipped me back a computer, loose inside a giant bag, barely padded.
It has some noticeable dings on it that weren't there before, unsurprisingly. And when I opened it, crumbs fell out of the keyboard? Like? You didn't even have the courtesy to shake out my computer after you ate your last meal seemingly on top of it? Guy just had a free computer for a month, and is so incosiderate.
Do I have any chance of denying this refund? Or proving that it came damaged? Issuing a partial refund? Or am I screwed and I have to give this scammer all his money back?

·3 years agoDoes this buyer have at least two feedbacks from seller regarding the returned item being covered in food by chance? Id post the pics if I had them but a buyer returned a MacBook pro stating not as described (they claimed half the OS was missing which isn't possible) and instead of using my 3 sizes of bubble wrap, foam and air bags she shipped it back in only the box I sent it in. She'd tore the box badly opening it and used two pieces of tape to seal it while the item bounced around the inside, USPS retaped it entirely. It came back with a round end no flat, lots of dings from hitting the charger and of course it worked just fine. It was also covered in jelly, all the way down the 10ft charger, slopped all over the keyboard, looted like they tried to use it as a touch screen (it wasn't) from the jelly finger prints sliding all over it, it was so nasty.
If your a top rated seller you can deduct 50% off the refund, otherwise you have to report them, refund in full.

·3 years agoI thought for sure deductions were allowed on remorse returns but on a not as described claim they have to refund in full, even if they receive an empty package.

·3 years agoI would clean sweep the computer so that nothing is on it...maybe from a pro. Nothing like someone putting any virus related stuff on it.
