Buyer lied about return reason and charging me shipping both ways
Buyer returned item saying that she ordered item in the color pink. NOWHERE in my listing did I offer pink. The Item Specifics clearly stated it was BLUSH PEACH. My photos were accurate. She simply did not read and did not like the color upon receipt. Then she took two photos in two different lightings and I guess she represented one of them as mine with her return request. Neither photo was from my listing. She stated that the item did not match the listing or the photos. I told her I would accept the return, but I do not offer free returns or free shipping. She requested a refund of the total amount, including shipping and apparently I am being charged for her return shipping also from what I have gathered online. I have submitted a report but not sure what to do now?? The refund will not let me deduct the shipping cost. Please help.

Sometimes buyers who use their phone for their searches and purchases don't get all the item specifics or they don't know how to get to them. So what they go by is the picture which, on their device may appear more pink than it appears on your screen or mine.
And in fact, neither your title nor your description state the colors of the 2 shirts.
Accept the return, (possibly) apologize for not describing the colors and when you get it back, prepare a better listing that is clear about what the buyer can expect.
Note: It's possible that the shirt just didn't fit the buyer or she didn't like them but when she saw your "no return" policy, she thought she needed a reason to return it so she may have felt pressure to lie in order to get to return it.

·6 months agoYou are selling in multiple categories, several of which are know to draw high maintenance customers.
You need to accept the fact that this is going to happen. You need to select products which minimize the number of these transactions that go bad.
You need to factor into your pricing a portion of your margin which is reserved to underwrite the cost of "shrinkage" just like a B&M store factors in the cost of shoplifting.
If you wind up losing the profit on multiple sales when you take a return, you are selling the wrong merchandise at the wrong price, or not selling enough to justify selling on Ebay.
There are rare buyers who use novel ways to cheat sellers, most of their methods are well known, and should be anticipated, even if they cannot be prevented.
There are many types of item, that I sold online in the past, that I would not offer today. They attract buyers who waste my time and money. I can always find something to sell, and I do not have to sell things that appeal to buyers who are not worth the effort of dealing with.
The only control you really have of your Ebay business is what you choose to sell. Use your control.

That is life.
If this presents a financial hardship, may I suggest not selling on ebay.
Good luck.

Your return shipping would only be paid by the buyer if they listed a remorse reason for the Return. Hang in there...

·6 months agoThat's something you learn to deal with selling on Ebay.
On an INAD, the buyer gets a full refund.

·6 months agoIf they filed an INAD reason for the return, not much you can do. You can report them for making a false claim, but that will only help eBay decide if this buyer is continued abuser the 30 MBG policy, it wont get you your shipping money back. This is just one of those things sellers must account for when selling
