Buyer Didn't Receive Item
A buyer contacted me about asking about a purchase from February that they didn't receive. The buyer paid on February 21st and it shows Shipped (Carrier Scan) on February 23rd. It has a tracking number, but there's no available information for the tracking number when I try and search.

·1 week agoJust as you cannot prove delivery, the buyer cannot prove that the item was not delivered.
The delay, with no communication, is in your favour.
The only action the buyer can take at this point is a credit card chargeback. Most cards allow only 180 days for chargebacks, some only 90.
Apologize for the buyer's disappointment, but explain politely that at this point there is nothing you can do.
Tell the buyer that if the item turns up in your mailbox, you will be back in touch.
FWIW, I refunded a $350 purchase that a UK buyer reported as Not Delivered last August. It turned up in my mail a week ago.

·1 week agoMost carrier tracking numbers are only good for 4 months. Ebay 30 day MBG is just that. There's nothing that can be done.

·1 week agoThe buyer has delayed long enough that they cannot force you to take any action. Ebay gave up any ability to do that about 5 months ago.
Many credit card issuers would not open a dispute.
Many shipping carriers have archived the information from their records, and might offer the rest of the tracking from their archive if requested. There may be a fee to access it.
I would apologize for the lack of availability of the tracking and send them a link to the Ebay MBG policy and procedures.
