buyer claiming I didn't cancel the sale and refund them
I had a sale on 7/17 and the buyer cancelled almost immediately. In fact, I got the cancellation request before I even saw the sale. Of course, I agreed to the request. The order came in 10:10am and the cancellation was processed on 10:28 that same day.
Today the buyer says they haven't gotten their money back. I explained that once I cancel, the money is sent back automatically. I sent a picture of the transaction in my payouts, order and refund. I told them to look at their purchase history under cancellations for details because I have no idea how they paid me.
They were quite insistent that I am withholding their money. Anything else I can do?

·3 years agoTell them to look in MY ebay. Then under PURCHASE. IF they see CANCELLED, they were refunded.
Tell them if they used paypal, they can go to PAYPAL, sign in and LOOK under HISTORY. The transaction should be there. If they used a credit card, it could take a few days for it to show up on their credit card.
Tell them that since you CANCELELD the sale through ebay, it is IMPOSSIBLE for you to send them a cent more than they paid. Block this buyer now from bidding. In a few days, block their emails if they continue.
If you think that there is a language problem and their language is Spanish, I can gladly translate what I wrote above

·3 years agoTell them to contact Ebay. Sounds almost like a scam to get you to send them a PP payment or something. Add them to your Blocked Bidder list.

·3 years agoThe money will go back to whatever payment source they used. If it was a credit card it can take a couple of weeks to be credited back. It all depends on the company.

OP3 years agoPerhaps. It was a brand new buyer. I'm not sure what they see on their end. They have to get a message from eBay stating their money is being refunded.

Not much else you can do at this point.
