Buyer asking for refund for “ counterfeit†blouse
I wake up this morning to a buyer requesting a return/refund. Her reason is “item not as describedâ€. It’s a Karen Scott pearl luxe soft sweater that was made exclusively for macys with the tags still on it, not to mention the Mrsp was 49.50 Which I only charged 34.95 plus calculated shipping . She claims it’s not luxesoft and counterfeit which is clearly not. I don’t know who’s going out their way to counterfeit a macys sweater but ok. Two she said I wrapped in glitter tissue paper which Is true (claims glitter got on it) I highly doubt it was to the point where it ruined the sweater but it seems my attempt in making the packaging look decent and not to mention I always hand write a thank you card has failed. It’s a little discouraging as a small seller . I go out of my way to give people the customer service I would want only to be met with false claims. Now I clearly disagree with her reasoning, my policy states I don’t accept returns . What should I do I this case? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

OP2 years agoThanks for the reply! I didn’t think the glitter tissue would be an issue because on the inside it’s no glitter and I wrapped the sweater in that part😩 but I guess it’s better safe than sorry. Lesson well learned lol

OP2 years agoOk , seems logical, I got all worked up this morning because obviously it’s a false claim. I’m still fairly new to eBay, how do you block a. Buyer?

·2 years agoIf your buyer used INAD as the reason...you need to follow procedures to get your item returned (first) then issue a refund.....(your policy is irrelevant with an INAD)
Accept the return, issue a return label, wait for the return to arrive, inspect the return, issue the refund
(and get rid of the glitter tissue paper) 😀

Re glitter tissue:
Several years ago, it was a post-Christmas clearance and I found 75% off tissue. It turned out that the package of tissue had a mix of glitter tissue and non-glitter. When wrapping an item to ship, I found a mess of glitter on the counter and more glitter on the handbag I sold. (Fortunately, the bag was leather and the glitter wiped off easily.) I can imagine that on a sweater, it would be more difficult because it would get into the weave.
Both you and I learned not to use glitter tissue!
As for your return request:
Often when a buyer sees a "no return" listing, they feel they need a "reason" to return it, thus open a claim alleging the item is NAD. And when they do that, the seller will lose the case every time if they fight it.
