buyer abusing
icy in an attempt to receive item and not have to pay for it, or sending back fake copy of item in an attempt to receive authentic item and not pay for it. I had an item appraised and authenticated before I listed it for sale, as well as listing the item simply as size 10 mens ring 16.8 grams. Anantique ring that had belonged to my father, I sold , shipped, and it arrived early, in the evening, yet somehow the buyer managed to have it assayed by 2 jewelers, that same evening, after hours, for free, and then, without any documentation, claimed the item was not as described and filed a return request that same evening! I accepted the return at first, but then never received the item, and the buyer refused to have the item re-shipped to me, at my expense, so I opened a case against the buyer, and submitted my documentation, I.E. the appraisal for the item, proving that the buyer was lying and abusing the return process. Ebay reviewed the case, notified me that they had ruled in my favor, that the case was closed, and my funds would finally be released within 24-48 hours, that was 3 days ago, and the case is still open, my funds are still on hold, and now the buyer is leaving negative feedback about the whole suituation. I am now no longer willing to accept the return, have blocked the buyer, still have not received the item, and as a matter of fact at last tracking check the item was on its way back to the buyer! as if maybe the buyer had somehow changed the shipping address and required some kind of special circumstance that prevented me from getting the item back, has reported that the item has been returned to me falsely, and has started in with abusive behavior and falsely accusing me of being dishonest! I am at my wits end, since ebay has betrayed my trust and not kept their word I have removed all items I had for sale as I feel I am not being protected from a scammer, that ebay has lied to me about closing the case and finally releasing my funds after a whole month of this **bleep**! So I have reported the buyer, asked ebay what the deal is, explained that I am having stress related health issues stemming from this whole situation, My anxiety is throught the roof, I had to go see my doctor this morning to be put on medication to counteract the anxiety and stress from ebays treatment of me in this situation, which I do not deserve! I have been honest to a fault, have submitted proof that the buyer is lying and abusing the return system in an attemt to get something for nothing and slandering my name in the process. has anybody ever heard of such ridiculous nonsense on ebay before? If so, please describe your situation to me and if it falls under a certain umbrella, and fits a certain criteria, I believe I will have my Uncle, A former federal court judge, file a class action lawsuit against Ebay for mistreating sellers and failing to protect them from **bleep** like this! I am still waiting on them to honor their promises to me to close the case and release my funds, which should have been done 2 days ago like they promised! Therein constituting negligence, and willful and intentional mental elder abuse.

·4 months agoSorry, unable to read the wall of text; however, just guessing here, your buyer claims the item is not as described. If/when the buyer opens an item not as described case, the seller is required to send a prepaid return label and refund in full upon receipt of the return. Or, the seller can choose to refund without requiring a return.
Once a buyer opens a case, your options are limited as above. Have you read the MBG?
BTW, do let us know how that class action suit works out when opened by your uncle, the former Federal court judge.

Irregardless if the return was done correctly by you or the buyer if a return causes you angst to the point of needing medication you might very well reassess whether you should be selling online or off. Endangering your health isn't worth it...............................
