Broken in shipping
I shipped an item that was broken in transit (though I really cant see how as it was very well packed). I understand I’m responsible to refund the buyer. But what about the taxes and shipping cost that was given to eBay? They don't need to send taxes to government because the sale is cancelled. And they did not pay to ship the item, I did. Will they refund these to me, send them back to the buyer, or what? Any help is appreciated..

·2 years agoYou will get the tax back when you refund in full. Unless it was insured, you lose the shipping. Some shipping includes some insurance. How did you ship it?
Trust me, they could break an anvil.

·2 years agoSales tax, Ebay will refund.
Shipping is a loss, because it was delivered.
Ask the buyer for a few pictures of the item and package, then refund the buyer.
Have the buyer hang on to the item and package so it can be inspected.
You file a claim with the carrier.
