Bought several DVDs at once. Most work, but some don't.
Summary: ebonymanta purchased a lot of DVDs from three different anime series and found that two discs from one series don't work despite cleaning efforts. They are unsure how to proceed with returning only the faulty discs without losing the entire purchase. simba6 suggested asking the seller for a partial refund, noting that DVDs can deteriorate over time, and mentioned that filing a claim might require returning the entire lot.
I bought a listing that contained several DVDs from three different anime series. Most of them seem to work just fine. However, two of the disks from one of the series don't work. I've cleaned them to the best of my ability, but I can't get any device to recognize them.
If I'd just gotten one disk at a time, I'd simply return the faulty ones... but these were part of a lot. Two disks from one series in particular don't work, but the rest do. I'm left with two complete series, and two functional disks of the third. I'd rather not return/refund the entire lot, but I don't really know what procedure I would go through if I were to only return the two faulty disks.

·1 month agoAlthough it is a reasonable request to make of a seller for a partial refund, there are some sellers who will be resistant, convinced that you are trying to scam them.
In some way, returning them all by requesting a return for Item Not As Described or Damaged is a simpler way to avoid interaction and confrontation.
The fact that you want to keep the disks that work, makes some sellers suspicious.
