Are you allowed to put a USPS Ground Advantage return label on a plain white envelope
Hello! Had an issue with a trading card I purchased so wanted to return for a refund. I don't have any shipping boxes laying around so I was wondering if I can just put that return label on a normal plain white envelope and send that out. Or is it required to have a bubble mailer/cardboard box to ship. Thanks!

·1 year agoIt’s the best practice to ship back in the packing material (box/mailer) that you received the item in. Don’t discard the original packaging until you are sure that a return is not necessary, especially if you don’t have shipping supplies of your own.

OP1 year agoProblem is they shipped via ebay standard envelope which means I can't put the return label on that so I would need my own box or something.

·1 year agoYou can purchase the mailer at a USPS location usually. They have big displays. You can buy them at walmart, office max, office depot, target - my local supermarket sells them as well. Can ask neighbors or coworkers for used boxes. Just turn inside out & reship.
What you can't do is use first class letter envelopes with the label.

Really? Then how do you plan to ship the cards that YOU are selling?
And I question, how would YOU feel if that seller just tossed the card into a regular envelope and shipped it to you?
Something isn't adding up here.

OP1 year agoI ship cards through ebay standard envelope. I would feel bad if they did that because that's exactly what they did and it got damaged in shipping. Which is why I have to return it.

·1 year agoYes you can tape a label to an envelope as long as the envelope isn’t letter size because the label shouldn’t be folded over any edges. I would also put the card between two pieces of cardboard to prevent bending.

·1 year agoUse cardboard and sandwich the card between the cardboard. Then use a bubble mailer or a clasp envelope. No! Do not use a regular white envelope. Those are for first class stamps only. Not package.
