Allstate protection plans are a 100% Scam
I'm out $1200 because they won't come fix recliner I bought, they've been saying someone will contact you within 2-3 days every 2-3 days for 3 weeks. I'm 18 months into a Worthless 5 year warranty.
Definitely stay away from Allstate

·1 year agoHit up Better Business Bureau and file a complaint with screenshots and paperwork. Make sure you include all types of documents. If the business doesn't have a A+ score with BBB, they're always in the "pay up" criteria. It's always worked for me with any problems I had with any businesses and their shady tactics.
Seriously, the BBB is your best bet and best friend when situations like these occur. Companies that like to play with our hard earned money deserve the worst punishment and the Better Business Bureau always got your back!

·1 year agoWalmart Protection Plan Allstate Square Trade is a total scam and I believe fraudulent business practice by both. Here’s my purchase story of two Toyota FJ40 ride on toy trucks for grandsons, delivered 2Oct 2024. I don’t usually buy insurance for relatively low priced items but did in this case because they were Christmas gifts and I knew by the time they came in and I assembled them, I would be outside of Walmart return guidelines. Trucks cost $339.99 each and the corresponding Allstate Square Trade 3yr warranty was $34 each. Total price including taxes and warranties was $788.77. Trucks shipped in two A and B boxes. Got trucks ready for kids to try out on Christmas Day 2024. Both trucks seemed very underpowered despite being fully charged. Trucks barely move with remote controls even with no child on board. Tried them out again second time on Easter weekend, same issues. Online claim process did not work so I called Allstate Square Trade. They first attempted to redirect me to either the manufacturer or Walmart. BTW, Walmart rep said they had no contact info for the “Pro Sellerâ€. The claim process was totally unworkable because unknown to me, Allstate chose to cover only Box B which Walmart listed as $113.57. This box had steering wheel, lights, etc not the main truck. Their “solution†to the weak performance was to send me an email directory of bicycle shops where I they suggested I could get fixed/repaired and submit the paid invoice for reimbursement. Catch is, due to the deceptive way the Allstate coverage was written, the trucks themselves are not covered as the Walmart.com listing showed. Current status, trucks are big bust, Allstate is no help and Walmart says they can’t do anything. My recommendation is; Don’t Buy Walmart Protection Plans unwritten by Allstate Square Trade! Walmart offered no assistance with Allstate. These so called Walmart Protection plans are a scam and I believe a fraudulent business practice by Walmart.

·1 year agoI purchased a Ninja blender and along with it the Allstate 3 year protection plan. The blender died shortly after a year of service. I filed a claim and that began a never ending run around trying to get a replacement or reimbursement. I heard every excuse why I was not entitled to a refund. After numerous attempts of sending copies of receipts, text messages, trying to reach a live person, I gave up. I still have the blender that doesn't work and all the paper work connected to it. I guess the next stop is the local land fill. Do not buy anything from these scammers! I'm disappointed that EBAY allows them to sell their program on line.

·1 year agoWere you offered to send your Blender in for repairs?
Did you follow the exact procedures as outlined it the user agreement?
Every excuse sounds like a lot of excuses. Do you have these excuses in writing?
If you think their refusal to honor your claim is wrong there are procedures outlined in the user agreement what you can do.

·1 year agoI just purchased a Ninja blender for my brother and came here after trying to contact SOMEBODY from Allstate to no avail. I didn't initially purchase the warranty and was considering adding it on if they let me. Guess I'll never know but now I know it's not worth it.

·1 year agoI'm inclined to agree, but maybe I'm the wrong one in my case. My story is simple. I checked the terms and conditions carefully before buying the warranty on a little sofa I bought for our son. It's a little thing that sits on the floor with no legs and converts into a little bed, nothing serious, was like ~$250. We thought he may break the mechanism that converts it at some point or spill juice on it, so I got the warranty, well that didn't happen. Instead 1 of our 3 cats peed on it last week while we were out for a few days. For some reason he didn't feel like going in his litter box for whatever reason, he's never peed on any of our furniture before but cats, amirite? The warranty covers animal urine. When we saw (and smelled) what happened, we got a stain kit and tried cleaning it but it was clear that urine got to the guts so no amount of cleaning with enzymatic cleaners helped.
Yesterday I started my claim, letting them know what happened and was approved for a stain kit. I called in, letting them know a stain kit would not work as I have tried and that the inside (of the sofa) likely has pee that the cleaner can't get to, or maybe it's getting to it but I can't soak it up, whatever it is, it smells like cat pee even after cleaning it. I received an email a bit later saying the claim was closed because it's clear that the sofa had "animal damage". Now, again, the warranty clearly says it covers animal urine, accidental spills, etc. but not clawing, bites, etc. so now the animal urine turned into animal damage somehow and that's that.
I'm not anti-after market or 3rd party warranty, I know a lot of people are but I've used Squaretrade in the past, I've used Asurion, I've never had a claim closed or denied like this. It genuinely feels like they just took my money and ran off with it. I'm definitely shy to get another Allstate warranty after this experience.

·1 year agoDo you have a copy of PROTECTION PLAN
TERMS & CONDITIONS?
Read it and then follow the procedures for going through BINDING ARBITRATION OR SMALL CLAIMS COURT to have your claim resolved.

·1 year agoAgree 100%.....Why does Ebay even allow these Scam artists to sell a Warranty that is worthless?

·1 year agoYou are only out $1200 if you walk away from your claim. Do you have a copy of PROTECTION PLAN
TERMS & CONDITIONS?
Read it and then follow the procedures for going through BINDING ARBITRATION OR SMALL CLAIMS COURT to have your claim resolved. I would not walk away from $1200 and I would not accept a reimbursement of the Plan.

·1 year agoIf they decided not to refund you for what you paid, your recliner must be worthless, and they are waiting for a handyman to come out and make sure it really is.
Squaretrade's business model was always to play the odds of a claim and refund against the amount they received in insurance premiums.
Allstate must need to make more.

·1 year agoYep! Total scam. Not falling for that **bleep**.

·2 years agoNever saw an aftermarket warranty plan that was worth anything. At best they will refund what you paid for the plan saying it was issued in " error ".

·2 years agoNope...I have auto and house Allstate insurance. I have been very happy with Allstate for years.
Would I buy a $1200 recliner not in a real store where you can walk in and make the purchase?

·2 years agoThe OP is talking about Allstate Product Warranties, formerly called SquareTrade.
I've heard a lot of complaints about them denying claims.
