agrement for a new shipment instead of return
we are agree seller would sell the item (40$ more or lee) again instead to return the damaged one he previously sent.
Seller asked me to cancel the “case” (the return proc) in order to send me a new tracking number. Is it normal to do it?
(I can understand him because it would be pointless to send a damage object back with extra shipping cost)
What to do in this case?

·1 month agoNever close the case. That ends sellers liability. Until you either receive a refund or are whole, your not whole.

·1 month agoThe seller does NOT need to you close the case in order to reship another item.
This is true and that's why he is able to just send another of the same item and once you receive it, THEN you can close the case.
I'm not saying the seller is a scammer but often, less-than-honorable sellers tell buyers they need to close the case in order to resolve it knowing full well that doing so negates the buyer's MBG and once closed, the seller doesn't need to do anything.

Tell the seller that you'll close the case as soon as you receive the replacement.

·1 month agoBad idea, do not cancel. Close out this first transaction completely by filing the INAD to receive a full refund. Once this transaction is closed, then go buy the item again. A reshipment is not covered by eBay MBG.
You are being dragged along to be timed out on the original MBG

·1 month agoDid you open an item not as described case with eBay? Do not close the case unless/until it's settled to your complete satisfaction. After you've opened an NAD case, you await the return label to send it back. No prepaid return label after 3 days? On day #4, you return to the case and ask eBay to step in. They will refund you from the seller's funds and tell you to keep the item. How about reading the Money Back Guarantee for further information on eBay's protection for buyers?
