Wisconsin sales taxes collected on purchases of gold and silver coins.
I have an issue with the ability to contact someone at eBay. All of the sellers I have contacted concerning the issue of collecting sales tax on the purchase of gold and silver coins is on EBAY, yet I am unable to call to talk to an actual person. I am to the point that if this is not CORRECTED SOON, I will never use eBay, or promote eBay again. If they aren't afraid of the damage this could cause, I would think again. How does a person get to find our why eBay insists on collecting sales tax of the purchase of gold and silver coins in the state of Wisconsin? Any kind of a response would be helpful.

If a gold coin was made in 1890 would that not be a collectible? So I would think it should be taxed like me buying forever stamps here. Naturally, there is no tax when I buy those stamps at the post office.
And so if you bought a 2025 gold coin from the bank I would assume there is no tax since it is real money and not a collectible but actually it is to people who buy them.
A bank cannot collect tax from people making purchases of new coins or whatever coins they have on hand in the bank.
