·1 year agoI'm using a computer and I find that if I shutdown fully and reboot clean it has often fixed the issue, but the browsers/OS are always pushing changes through and taking data out and sometimes you have to do it twice.

·1 year agoI think it is freaking annoying and that I have to do it on my own desktop computer! Knock it off Ebay! It is bad enough I have to do this **bleep** on other websites! You can also take your 2 step verification and shove it where it doesn't shine!

·3 years agoEbay wants to make sure it's you and not your dog or cat fooling around on ebay. I like the one that shows the crosswalks.

·3 years agoOne way to prevent people from using bots to perform repetitive tasks (like trying a series of different passwords to crack an account, or scraping data from a web site) is by adding a simple verification test that a human can easily pass, but which is very difficult for a bot.
Most folks only have to go through verification once in a while unless they are erasing eBay's cookies in their browser.

Yes. Anything that changes your apparent IP-address that eBay sees -- such as using a VPN or a hotspot or even certain kinds of privacy software -- can cause you to have to undergo verification each time the address changes.
