Variation quantity auto-changed after selling out
Summary: hero-gaming reported an issue with an eBay listing where the quantity of a variation unexpectedly increases after they change the price. This leads to situations where the variation appears available for purchase even when there is no actual inventory, causing them to process refunds. ch_288052 asked if any solutions had been found for this problem.
Issue:
I have an eBay listing with multiple variations.
At some point, I changed the price of one or more variations.
After changing the price, the quantity for a variation appears to have doubled/increased unexpectedly.
I did not intentionally increase the quantity.
When I sell units of that variation and it reaches 0, eBay does not keep it at 0. Instead, the quantity returns to the previously inflated maximum quantity.
This causes the variation to become available for sale again even though I have no inventory.
Example. VariatIon 1 has a quantity of 2. I decrease the price of variation 1. A buyer buys both (2). Then that variation is still at 2. Another buyer can buy 1 or 2. And now i have to refund them because i only had 2, not 4

OP2 weeks agoNo. After an invoice is paid, i have to manually go to the listing(s), and decrease the quantity.

OP2 weeks agoI'm actually not sure if the issue is the affected variations are due to invoices.
