Uploading pictures
Is anyone having trouble uploading pictures to listings? (I'm using Safari if that makes a difference.)
Firstly, it is very slow to start the upload.
Once they start uploading, the process is slower than death. (I've tried doing fewer pictures at a time and it works slightly more quickly but still, slow.
Then, once uploaded, a few pictures appear correctly, but others are "foggy," pixelated and split (literally cut in half) into 2 side-by-side halves! It looks like the picture was taken through a screen.
For example, in the following picture, the part shown on the left should be on the right side of the other half!

·2 years agoI'm having the same issue! I'm using a Mac, Safari, pictures using iPhone... all .jpg. If I EDIT on the Mac and upload to eBay, they look weird like yours...stretched/skewed/split. If I upload UNEDITED photos, they turn out fine. The only change I can think of is I updated Ventura last week to 13.6.1 (Safari 17.1).

OP2 years agoHi @elizabeth@ebay
I list from my laptop and it's Version 17.1 (19616.2.9.11.7).
It worked by dragging and dropping! OMG! Why didn't I think of trying it?!?!?
LOL! I hesitate to list on Chrome because I post using Chrome and whenever I do something on the "wrong" browser, I end up posting with my selling ID or trying to list on my buying/posting ID!
Thank you so much for the solution.

I am so the work around worked @albertabrightalberta 💜 They are still going to work on resolving the issue though!

·2 years agoFor the record @elizabeth@ebay , ever since eBay released the abomination they called the unified lister, drag + drop only works on single item listings. It does not work on variation listings with either Safari or Firefox on Mac.

Thank you @wastingtime101. I'll pass this along to the team.

Hi @albertabrightalberta. Thank you for reporting this, our team is looking into it now. In the meantime, could you please use Chrome or another browser. If you drag and drop the image into the listing form instead of browsing to the photo this should also help!
Also, would you mind clarifying which version of the Safari app you have installed?

·2 years agoYep, as eburton lab said, it's the photo format. eBay and HEIC have not been playing well together for a lot of Mac users. When I take product photos I switch my phone from HEIC to JPG format. So far I haven't had issues with JPG, Safari, Firefox and eBay.

·2 years agoThe problem seems to affect some Mac users using the HEIC image format.

OP2 years agoLOL! I started trying to list this item about 15 hours ago and it happened then.
I figured if it was a glitch, it would have been fixed by now.
Based on the lack of responses though, it doesn't seem to be a site-wide issue.
