Updating Personal Account Settings Support or lack thereof
Trying to manage my all primary email addresses away from aol to gmail. eBay system won't let me change or delete the aol AND system says my personal gmail email address is already used.
For Gods sake just move aol to secondary email and gmail address to primary. Someone named Melvin said eBay will never do that and told me bacically to pound sand. 838 transactions since 1986 and they won't support help on line. Suggestions??

That said - did you "Sign in with Google" - if so, you created a sort of "ghost" account, and eBay is holding your gmail email address, as it believes it is being used by another account.
From what I understand - Gmail has a unique feature where it ignores periods in email addresses, but eBay views them as completely separate, unique emails.
The Hack - Let's say your gmail is johnsmith@gmail dot com., when you enter it in eBay use john.smith@gmail dot com instead - you will still get your emails, and eBay should interpret it as a unique email address.
Give it a shot.
Forgot to mention - go to your AOL account and send an email using a period to your gmail address to make sure it works.

Each eBay account needs a unique email address; addresses cannot be reused.
