Unable to turn off marketing/promotional messages from eBay in Messages section of website
When I go to Account > Communication Preferences > Marketing Communications there are checkboxes to disable marketing for email and phone. However, there is nothing to turn off promotional messages specifically in the Messages section of the website. Examples of these types of messages are "A $50 statement credit can be yours" and "Last chance! 10% off watches $2,000+".
For years now, I have seen that I have (1) unread message only to find out it is actually an unsolicited message from eBay. It is really annoying. None of these messages have an "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the message. After speaking with level 2 customer service I was informed that it is in fact not possible to turn off these messages.
Are there any plans to address this? How was this not addressed in the Messaging redesign?

·3 years agoHonestly I'm really sick of ALL the messages from eBay. The marketing ones, the 2 that get sent every time I send a shipping refund, the daily one I get sent when they send my payout. It's really tedious and it makes it difficult to know when an actual message I need to pay attention to gets sent to me.

·3 years agoI hate this too. I currently have over 30 messages from eBay that I couldn’t care less about. To make matters work there is no option to select all and delete. You have to waste your time deleting them one by one. eBay needs to stop spamming users with this crap.
