Tracking not being uploaded when using ebay bought label
Summary: mamacassidy reported an issue with eBay where a tracking number shows as "tracking number provided" despite being scanned in and showing in transit with USPS. The problem seems to be widespread, as noted in discussions on the Selling message board. jnewc-100 also experienced a similar issue, involving a package not tracking correctly, and had difficulty resolving it with both USPS and eBay. They noted that many others faced the same problem and were advised it wouldn’t affect their feedback. christworks pointed out that the thread is outdated and suggested starting a new one for current issues.
I purchased a shipping label from ebay yesterday. I printed the label out, took it to the post office, and had it scanned in. The USPS system shows it in transit.
The eBay tracking shows "tracking number provided, ship by Monday, May 5".
I am not the only one having this problem, there is also a discussion about it on the Selling message board.

·2 days ago8-13-26 Had an issue today. Got a receipt from the post office. Not tracking when I watched it. USPS by phone said go back to the post office & get the pkg put a new label on it. It was too late. USPS said it's an issue with ebay and their broker, whatever that means. I got a screenshot at the office of USPS that they received it, got a receipt. Now dealing with ebay on the issue. Thankfully only one of my four packages had this issue. Hard to escalate with the AI platform. So just wait forever for a real person and inform them. Today I was told many people had the same issue unfortunately. They assured me I won't get negative feedback. But this literally took hours of my day chasing the problem and 3 visits at the post office.

I was dinged for late shipment.
The label was purchased from ebay on April 30. The package was scanned in at the post office on May 1, and I got a receipt.
ebay is still showing "send by Monday, May 5".
This package has already been delivered.
This needs to be addressed by the IT department because I am not the only one experiencing this, and we should not get a defect.

·1 year agoThe package tracking on my errant eBay order finally updated, 3 weeks later. My late shipping defect was removed and it now shows 100%. Hope the same for everyone else.

·1 year agoUpdate: after speaking with reps on FB yesterday (Saturday) and being told they'd have to do "turn it over to IT"...
It was fixed as of this morning.

·1 year ago@toysaver yes- this is an actual REAL problem. I have an item shipped 1 week ago, picked up/scanned as 'received' by USPS the next day (so, 6 days ago). and as of yesterday;
USPS shows 10 different 'scans' including Delivered May 2..
Yet ebay shows NOTHING.
I contacted reps on Facebook- gave them screen shots. They agreed it is an issue and would push mine up to the IT Dept...although who knows where that will really go.
@ebooksdiva FYI- it is NOT a lag; it is a complete disconnect.
I must be on some of eBays servers because I haven't seen that issue.

·1 year ago@ebooksdiva I haven't either in 15 years and almost 30,000 packages (all USPS; all purchased in ebay) but there's a first 'glitch' that can't be solved around the corner, every single day on the fabulous network of Ebay.....

I hope so.
I had multiple items scanned in at USPS yesterday, and only this one did not show in the ebay tracking.
As I mentioned, others are having the same problem, so I just wanted to bring it to the tech team's attention.
I’m not seeing that issue. I took a couple orders to get a scan receipt yesterday at the PO, both orders showed as in-transit in eBay within 20 - 30 minutes after being scanned. Plus to be on the safe side I’ve increased my handling time just in case.

·1 year agoI don't believe this will catch up. It's a significant new issue that needs to be addressed. Case in point. I shipped this Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday evening I checked eBay and saw only an acceptance scan, par for the course, I was hoping for a departure scan as well. Wednesday when I checked, the acceptance scan per eBay had vanished. USPS was a totally different story.

It’s a typical lag between eBay and USPS. Tracking on eBay will catch up eventually.
