The new login is for the birds
I don't know who came up with the Captcha login challenge, but I just spent 5 minutes trying to "image match." It does not work. I've got a great idea to limit ebay buying and selling, put up a random 5 minute wall giving people literally dozens of chances to decide they have something better to do with their time. Whoever signed off on, paid for, approved, and championed the new Capcha image matching login challenge should be fired...today.

·1 year agoIf you are spending more than a few seconds on a single Captcha, something is very wrong.
If you are running into multiple Captchas, or failing multiple Captchas, that might be a sign of a problem with your browser either blocking cookies or blocking JavaScript.
Most folks only have to deal with Captcha when signing in again after deleting eBay cookies.
Try another browser as a test. Or a private or incognito browser window. If that works better than your current browser, try manually erasing just your eBay cookies once in the original browser. Check to see if your browser is the most recent version available and that JavaScript is enabled.

If none of that helps and you are having problems signing in, try an alternative sign-in page:

·1 year agoThe last time I had to do the picture matching I noticed that the photos they were using were so blurry that you could hardly identify what they were. It took me multiple tries to get it right because of the blurry photos and I wondered at the time if they had set stuff for phone use and ignored the fact that some people might be on a large monitor with resolution set to 120%.

There should be an option to reset all the images; that may be quicker than struggling with blurry images you cannot identify.
