Something's amiss with shipping labels
Just purchased a few labels (via ebay) and was charged 9.15 for a 3 ounce (4x6x1) package to VA. Immediately after that I purchased a label for a package weighing 8 ounces (10x8x4) shipping to NJ and was charged 6.37. I'm in WA.
Something is clearly off.

·9 months agoFor the $9.15 charge, did you possibly have the box checked for "irregular package" (which will add $4.00)?

OP9 months agoNot that I'm aware of. I didn't change any of the settings other than the weight (it was set to 4 ounces). Your explanation makes the most sense, however, so perhaps I bumped something without realizing it. That would be about the right difference between what the package should have cost and what I was charged.

You need to double check your Shipping sections and settings, specifically the package type. For example, I see the Make up brush is showing only $ 2.50 shipping from WA to PA and as a Seller using USPS Ground Advantage there is no shipping cost that low for us with Ground Advantage so that one must have had the Letter or Large Envelope selected ... which is not a tracked service nor can regular stamp type postage be purchased through eBay.
If you use the Sell Similar function on that sold item a duplicate listing draft will be created and you can see what those settings were and then Save the listing for later, that puts it in your Draft file and you can Delete it from that file.

OP9 months agoThat shipping rate was a hold over from when I tried discounted/free shipping. That's not the problem. The problem is that item ships in a tiny box that weighs 2.7 ounces (3 for the purpose of shipping). I was charged 9.15 for shipping that tiny little package, and then charged 6.37 for a package 2.5 times as heavy in a box approximately 4 times the size ...to a destination even further from me than the tiny package.
I use calculated USPS Ground Advantage as a rule, regardless of whether I pay the shipping or the buyer does. The rate is absolutely never 9.00+ for a tiny 3 ounce package.
The last two of these brushes that I sold shipped for ~4.50 and 5.25 (my choice to charge a flat rate of 2.50 was based on this insofar as I was trying to split the shipping cost with the buyer).

Yes, I saw that from your original post, Both NJ and VA would be Zone 8 for distance from your location. It might still be beneficial to double check those sold listings as explained.
