I am currently experiencing the same problem with my accounts not being able to relink on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest!
I tried deleting the eBay Social App on facebook, but it did not fix the "Linking was unsuccessful" error.

·2 years agoFor anyone still having trouble with this, here's what finally worked for me today: Go to https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=business_tools and remove the eBay Social App. Then go back to the eBay store Social page and click "Link" next to Facebook. This restored my ability to post from eBay. Good luck!

This morning I saw that the banner on the Social page indicating FB and Instagram are unavailable has been removed. I was able to relink my FB page and successfully share several listings. I do not use Instagram, so was not able to test it.
I hope everyone finds that they are also able to relink their social accounts and successfully share listings.

I wanted to follow up regarding an issue with eBay’s social account linking.
I originally connected my social accounts I believe back in back in 2024 without any problems, so I didn’t think about it again for a while. Recently, I went back to check the Social posting section, and I noticed that all platforms now show as disconnected.
Under “Not Linked Accounts,†I see the following messages:
Facebook: “Your account lost its connection, please relink your accountâ€
Pinterest: “Your account lost its connection, please relink your accountâ€
Instagram
TikTok
YouTube
When I try to relink any of these platforms, I receive the same “Linking was unsuccessful†message across all of them.
Since these accounts were previously connected successfully, I wanted to check if this is a known system-side issue or if there’s something specific that needs to be reset on my account.
Thank you for taking a look, and I appreciate any guidance you can provide.

Any word on this yet? I just tried again to link them and was unsuccessful. I am able to share my Instagram posts to my Facebook page, which is my only saving grace at the moment.

·2 years agoThis has been more than annoying- since ebay wont link to FB - it automatically unlinked me from Instagram as well and I cant link back. Not being able to utilize this feature that is part of what we pay for is affecting my sales- anyone elses sales being affected? Has anyone asked ebay about partial refunds for services not able to be used?

Yes, I agree that this unresolved issue is annoying. I am still manually creating posts on my FB business page, however, doing that is more time-consuming compared to using the Social page to share my listings.
I have not had a drop in sales that I can directly attribute to this issue. I am sorry to hear that your sales have been affected (negatively).
As far as requesting a partial refund of fees, I do not have any experience doing that about technical issues on the site.

·2 years agoIt's been weeks since this feature stopped working and they put the banner up regarding the Facebook sharing link. Is there any chance of an update or ETA for a fix?

·2 years agoI bet this has to do with Facebook. They changed some of their meta data or something because I used to use an app to sync my contact images and it stopped working a few weeks ago.

·2 years agoConfused. After weeks of not being able to share listings on FB, I tried it today, 3/5/24. My first listing went to my FB page. I thought "great-it's back". HOWEVER, any subsequent attempts failed with the same warning as previous that the PAGE was MISSING. Peculiar. Any suggestions from anyone who has responded to this issue. I assume it's a glitch, so do I report it, or are we just not supposed to be able to post listings on FB? Thanks, pauli

I still can not link my FB account to the Social page, so sharing is not possible from the Social page (Seller Hub>Marketing>Social).
As of this evening, I CAN now share to FB both from the listing page and by using the dropdown list to the left of the listing on the Manage Active Listings page. This flow to sharing to FB had not been working on my account for months.
I am sorry but I have not seen any updates directly from eBay regarding the status of this issue.

·2 years agoHi @mcdougle4248 , our teams are working closely with Meta to try to resolve this issue as fast as possible, but sellers will have issues linking until it is resolved. The interface changes on Meta’s side had a cascading effect on our software, which is resulting in this issue. We hope to resolve this soon!

OP2 years agoIt looks like eBay has placed a banner on the Social page to communicate with sellers about this issue. Unfortunately, the banner communication gives us no insight as to when the issue is expected to be resolved 😣

·2 years agoThe banner just states Facebook is unavailable. I don't know about others, Instagram doesn't work for me either. I know Facebook and Instagram are owned by same company and the setup instructions even state that your Instagram page must be connected to Facebook page. I am assuming this is why Instagram doesn't work either.

·2 years agoWhat's the best way to contact support? I just contacted them about this issue and they didn't say anything about it being an ongoing issue.
I had my Facebook account linked and had JUST done my first post through it and then came back to eBay a few days later and it was unlinked.
I've also been completely unable to add Instagram even though they are all linked as well. I get the same message that I now get with Facebook - must be the same error.
They told me to unlink it through Facebook but I can't find anywhere in my Facebook account where it's even linked to eBay. I was unable to complete the chat; is there a quicker way to report this?

You can try contacting eBay through their Facebook page. The eBay staff there are more knowledgeable and helpful compared to when going through the normal customer service. Send a private message and ask for your eBay account to be added to ALERT 15184 (this is the tech ticket for this issue).

·2 years agoI also have an issue with eBay Social. Previously, I successfully connected my Facebook page and was able to share posts seamlessly through the platform. However, I recently noticed that the connection has been disconnected, and despite my attempts, I have been unable to reconnect it.
