seller asking if I can meet him for cash payment to avoid seller fees and delivery
hey , I received an offer from a seller for an item I had in my watchlist. So I sent a counter offer to them, then they replied saying they would accept it but they want me to meet up with them and pay in cash…. Which I think is against the rules. Please help, cheers
P.S I've tried cancelling the offer but its not allowed in this case (lol) Ive sent a report to ebay but I dont want this guy to accept my offer now as its suspicious

·3 weeks ago@yorkshirepud27 If this is an attempt, as you state, to "avoid seller fees," that is definitely a violation of eBay rules -- if you are listing on eBay's site, eBay deserves its cut of the sale.
Just tell the buyer "No," and cancel the sale as "problem with buyer's address."

·3 weeks ago@yorkshirepud27 is the buyer, not the seller. His offer to buy was accepted by the seller, but the seller wants to meet in person and collect cash.

I really wouldn't worry about it. You have reported the seller, which is very important. If they sent you any messages in Ebay messages, you can report those too right from the messages.
If for any reason the seller accepts your counter offer, you can request them to cancel the transaction due to what the seller is attempting to do. While the buyer can ONLY request a cancellation, the seller has to actually process the cancellation, if that seller doesn't comply, just contact Ebay and go over the problem. They will fix it for you.

OP3 weeks agoeven better, the listing has the option of postage an in a PM he said ''but will you come and collect it in person as I can't post it?''
just hoping he doesn't accept the offer in the next 24 hours I'm off to go buy someone else's listing now....
