Recently ended listings are not showing up in "Inactive"
There seems to be a glitch. Anything I've ended is not showing up on Inactive listings. I was able to search one of my listings and when I clicked, I saw it was ended, but nothing from the last 24hrs is on the "Manage inactive listings" tab.

·6 months agoThis morning I ended listings that were about to expire. They didn't show up under "unsold" so that I could "sell similar". This freaked me out because I know I didn't delete them. I ran a report for all of my active listings, and the ones I ended were on the report as active. When I search for them in my active listings, they are not there. I contacted ebay and an agent was supposed to call me in 10 minutes, but its been about 40 minutes now. Fingers crossed that this is just some sort of processing delay due to February being a short month and a lot of listings are ending. I'm going to periodically check my "unsold" to see if they show up.

·6 months agoIt took about 4 hours for mine to appear in the Inactive file/folder/whatever it's called.

·6 months agome too. i called Ebay- there is a system wide glitch. not only are my listings that i ended not showing up in unlisted but the auto-relist of my listings appears to be stuck and nothing is relisting. ebay rep gave me a tech case number. i asked to be transferred to a supervisor, that is who told me they are aware of the problem and working to fix it.

·6 months ago@fashionandform2 just fyi, that's basically what support has told sellers when this happens at the end of February every year since they changed how Good Til Canceled listings renew in 2019...including last year when sellers were told that exact thing by support before eBay finally posted this notice explaining it was a "data processing delay."

This isn't really a "glitch" in the strictest sense of that term - it's literally that eBay knows at certain times of year it will take longer for GTC renewals to process (which also can cause delays in processing new and manually ended/relisted items), and during that time some listings will be in "limbo", not showing in ended/unsold/inactive or relisted in active.
Apparently it's not a priority for them to find a real solution/proactively plan for this entirely foreseeable annually occurring event. It will be "fixed" in the next day or two not because eBay did anything, but simply because the backlog will be cleared out - and I'd be willing to bet that we'll all be back here having this some discussion again in February 2027.

·6 months agoSame here. I ended some listings this morning but they are not showing up as inactive. And, my number of active listings did not change.

·6 months agoeBay experiences this same issue every year at the end of February - because it's a short month, there are more listings renewing, and that causes longer than usual lag time/delays where it may take 24-48 hours for you to see those ended listings show back up.

·5 months ago@lucky-findz it was plausible at the time that I wrote that - ask anyone who has been around here for the last few years and they will tell you it happens every year at the end of February.
That being said, the end of February has never been and clearly still isn't the only time it happens, but the general explanation still holds - these kinds of "data delays" can happen any time that eBay experiences higher than normal system activity and there can be a million different reasons why that may happen at any given time.
For example, the last day of the month can be a higher activity time even when it's not February, just as part of the regular monthly GTC renewal cycle.
They might also experience these types of delays when changes or updates are being rolled out to different parts of the site - and there have been more than a few of those lately.
And beyond that, sometimes eBay may be simply "load-balancing", intentionally choosing to preference fast load time and responsiveness on the buying side of the site, even if it causes a negative experience on the selling side, especially during heavy traffic or peak load events.
The importance of optimizing for the consumer-buyer experience was laid out in a corporate blog post when they launched a company-wide Speed initiative in 2019, focused on improving performance across desktop, mobile, and apps and specifically targeting home page, search and item page performance - all importantly geared toward the buyer-facing side of the user experience.
The post explicitly calls out making cuts in certain areas to balance their "need for speed" as well as creating a committee to monitor and oversee application of the "speed budget."

While many sellers say they typically don't see noticeable delays in ending and/or relisting items, eBay has previously said it may take 24-48 hours and if the delays you are seeing are within that timeframe, support will likely tell you it's "working as intended."
So yes, the underlying point of my previous post is absolutely still a plausible explanation even though it's no longer the last day of February.

·5 months agoWell, if you ask this long timer (I've been around since my very first of 6 ebay accounts I started in the 90's) I've personally never experienced this issue, not even at the end of last month (February) or any other month or year. Today (March 31) is the very first time I've ever had this issue. I've had the ended listings take about a minute or two to show up before, but today is the first time that it has ever happened to the point that it's now been over 12 hours and they are all still gone, nowhere to be found, not searchable, nothing.
I'm over it today, if they aren't back by tomorrow morning I'm just ending the other half of my listings and leaving eBay. I'm for sure not going to redo over 300 listings from scratch, not even about to happen. I never experienced a single technical glitch in all the years I've been with eBay, until the same week they added the AI features for the first time. Ever since that week, I have experienced major technical glitches at minimum once per week, sometimes taking me out of work for multiple days at a time. eBay is simply no longer a reliable platform to have my business operate on any longer. Yes, you can sell more on eBay, when the site is working, but when you are forced to miss work for days at a time, it's just smarter to concentrate all my efforts on the marketplaces that I've still never experienced a technical issue with (I currently use ten marketplaces and eBay is the only one I've ever had these issues with). Why spend days trying to fix an eBay issue when I can spend all those hours listing more items on the marketplaces that can keep their site operational.

·4 months agoI had ended over 300 listing to improve wording, improve photos etc. They are all gone. No, they aren’t in the “inactive “ either. I’m so frustrated with this. In the 10 years of selling on eBay this has never happened. They just won’t leave things alone in areas that are working fine, yet, they don’t improve areas that sellers ask for.
